It is rather frustrating that there are all these resources and energy down there. All we have to do is dig a hole. It doesn't even have to be all that deep, a couple of hundred kilometres should do it. That's only as far as London to Birmingham (ish)

I mean, how hard can it be? ;)

Very hard. The deepest BH is around 7.6 miles deep and took 20 years or so to drill. Plus, the rock gets very hot at that depth, hard to drill & keep the hole open. For geothermal energy, it wouldn't have to be so deep.

No good will come of that. The BBC did a drama documentary showing the risks

I recently found out that courgettes grow into marrows if you delay picking them.

(I was given a giant courgette/small marrow from a friend's allotment.)

Several years ago I was passing through a village where marrows were being sold at the side of the road. We had courgettes growing at home, so purchasing a marrow for 50p and placing it among the leaves caused some amusement to Wife and young Daughter when they arrived home later!

I have only just realised that my phone can receive photos in MMS messages! The settings were wrong on my previous phone so they never worked.

Having found that out, I learned how to send one back and just did that.

Next thing to learn is how much that costs, because I know my call package doesn't cover MMS.

I tried to set up MMS on my phone (a DORO 'dumb' phone) - my favoured choice because it's fairly small. and flips so the screen isn't likely to be damaged in the rack bag. Anyway, I'm with 1p mobile, and asked them for the list of 'criteria' to be able to set it according to the maker's instructions. The list didn't 'match', so for example it wants a 'user' but we don't know what to enter. Things like 'server' also. Even my Daughter, who is a wiz with any computers or phones couldn't get it working (see calls it my 'Dorothy' btw )

Proper cat milk? It must surely be quite difficult to milk a cat!
Hmm, we all know not to touch our youngest cats tummy, or our hands will be degloved below the elbow.

But in my braver moments i have got away with rubbing my face in her belly fur.

Lovely to have the trust of such a feisty beast!

The time to worry is when it says "I can't find that version of je t'aime on You Tube"

My MIL has amazon alexa create a shopping list for her. Our Daughter looked at the created list and was puzzled and amused to find her Grandma wanted to buy 'Turtles'. A couple of days after I was mulling this over and exclaimed to my Wife "It's Percil!". MIL is 'posh' and we think the writer of Keeping Up Appearances must have met her at some time. When we tried to recreate the Hyacinth Bucket voice, Percil does indeed sound a bit like Turtles! MIL wouldn't use any old washing powder you know. ^_^

Madam Lexi loves tummy munches, as did the late Madam Poppy.

On the other hand, the late Master Toby would go all Wolverine on you if you even tried to touch his belly.

My daughters dog (a lab) rolls on her back and insists on her belly being rubbed whenever I see her.

As well as my allergies, muscle pains, other pains, alcohol, caffeine addiction, it now appears that sugar levels affect my sleep quality.

I am currently sugar free but might end up just cutting out late day sugar. I am unsure how much more sleep, if any, I am now getting, but at least I am very consistently relaxed whilst trying to sleep.
Here is an argument on the matter.

It could be right. I always sugar binged after long days on the bike, whilst blaming the body aches for none sleep.

There's a little button by the window controls in the driver's door of my car which when pressed. (or unpressed, I forget) prevents the passenger window controls from working.

I suppose it makes sense but I never knew it was there. But I do now.
