And the core will never cool. So is an unlimited source of clean energy.
The sun will blow up earth before the core has time to cool.

It is rather frustrating that there are all these resources and energy down there. All we have to do is dig a hole. It doesn't even have to be all that deep, a couple of hundred kilometres should do it. That's only as far as London to Birmingham (ish)

I mean, how hard can it be? ;)

Maybe ask the Icelanders? They often pay the high price of free energy.

But wouldn’t the extraction of the energy cool it quicker when the thermal energy is used (removed)?

You don't need to be at imminent risk of volcanic death to extract geothermal energy.
Pretty sure there are geothermal power stations in the uk already, and the hot springs at Bath show the energy is there.

Old flooded Uk coalmines are a possible heat source, according to recent reports. I'd like to see projections of power output, but suspect they'd only be good enough for local schemes and not to contribute to the national grid. ??

Probably but there is 5 billion years of heat.
So even if we deplete it at twice the rate it will last 2.5billion years.

I think it's self-warming isn't it? From decay of Uranium or something like that. Wasn't that the reason for Kelvin's estimate of the age of the earth to be way off? Something along those lines anyway.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
My phone (a Pixel 5) has a Now Playing feature which identifies music playing in the background. It is extremely sensitive and sometimes tells me what music is playing in TV dramas so quietly that I couldn't identify it if asked.

What I have just discovered is that if I click on the identification label a history list pops up. I can see every identified piece of music that has been played near the phone since the start of 2022! If I would like to hear one of those pieces of music again I can simply click on it in the list and get it from YouTube Music.

Damn clever!

(I was worried that the audio picked up by the phone mic might be sent back to Google for this to work but it turns out that it is done on the phone itself. It works perfectly well without a phone or internet signal.)

Need a black tie for a funeral
I always wanted a Lyke Wake Walk tie because I thought it would have a certain cache at funerals, but I never managed to do the walk:

When I got this computer I tried the voice recognition for a couple of minutes. With Word open, I said:
"testing testing, so does this voice recognition stuff really work, then"

And up on the screen came:
"testing testing, so does this voice recognition stuff really work, then....yes, thank you"

Just as I was pondering the lippy backchat I realised that it was picking up the radio.
