After 3 years I have found out that I can stream Spotify direct to my Cyrus One amplifier via Bluetooth instead of routing it via my Arcam rPlay Streamer on the home network.

What difference does this make?

Well, the Arcam rPlay uses the DTS Playfi ecosystem which does not enable tracks to be smoothly segued. Not life threatening but irritating nonetheless.

Whereas, direct from my phone or tablet via Bluetooth, tracks can be segued in a controlled manner - audio bliss!

Why the moment of realisation took 3 years to materialise is beyond me.

I have to admit that I did not understand a word of that

I thought it was set in the Korean war. Maybe I was getting it mixed up with MASH. I guess I should actually read it too!

For goodness sake!!!!!!! Yes, you and @Tail End Charlie should definitely read it!

(Yes, it's set in WW2 Italy. MASH was in the Korean War, but was always "about" the US involvement in Vietnam.)

How can you not read a book that starts with this:
The first time he saw the chaplain, Yossarian fell madly in love with him.

I should at this point also admit that I don't think I've ever seen a whole episode of MASH.

In this vein, I've never watched the whole of "The Sound of Music"

That the Arctic Circle "moves" (I think it's about 40' a year? Depending on where you measure it, no doubt)

It's a sort-of 2ry effect; because the earth's axis wobbles about (and the Sun stays more-or-less in the same place!), a different amount of the earth's surface is in shadow at each year's winter solstice.

Well, write it down boy ......
Another bubble burst for me. There seem to be loads of new gins on the market in the last few years and I had, rather romantically, imagined people with stills in their garages/ workshops producing the drink (a bit like Prohibition). It transpires that they merely buy the alcohol in and mix it up with whatever is their USP. I say merely, but I couldn't do it!
