What a fun country - vive la difference!

p.s. is this actually true; "Refusing to let a stranger use your toilet" is a crime in Scotland [source The Scotsman] ??

A bit of googling to check the veracity of this lead me to a hilarious thread on a message board: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2852970/do-i-have-to-let-someone-in-to-use-my-toilet

I let a stranger into my flat. He came to my door desperate for the toilet and, being the nice person i am, I have let him in. Problem is this was an hour ago and he's been in there since then, stinking the place up.
I shouted through the door to see if he was ok and he said to leave him alone he was on the toilet *which he clearly is*. I replied that this is my bloody flat and I was trying to do him a favour and he is now saying that I had no choice and by law I had to let him in.
...
he is running a bath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! should i call the police or is it my own fault for inviting him in?
....
and so on

I understand the late, great Humphrey Lyttelton, jazz maestro and broadcaster did confirm that Samantha from the show, was in fact a real person, but Colin Sell was fictitious

Speaking as someone who has seen more than one recording of I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue I was disappointed to find out that Samantha (and Sven) don't exist, but Colin Sell does.

How dare you spout such seditious slander. Of course Samantha exists, she's just too busy with her various gentlemen friends to get to many shows.

I used to know somebody who went to see a recording of 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue' about 15 years ago and he said Samantha was in her seventies.

The other day When a neighbour was on about anti social behaviour occurring recently around here, I said to her "I'm ok, they can't bang on my windows or door, as mine's an upstairs flat". Then when we parted I thought You idiot, my door is obviously downstairs!!!

After 3 years I have found out that I can stream Spotify direct to my Cyrus One amplifier via Bluetooth instead of routing it via my Arcam rPlay Streamer on the home network.

What difference does this make?

Well, the Arcam rPlay uses the DTS Playfi ecosystem which does not enable tracks to be smoothly segued. Not life threatening but irritating nonetheless.

Whereas, direct from my phone or tablet via Bluetooth, tracks can be segued in a controlled manner - audio bliss!

Why the moment of realisation took 3 years to materialise is beyond me.

We have a fridge in the outbuilding which is now my Beer Fridge ( though Mrs Tenkaykev has started encroaching with items of veg 😮)
In winter it's switched off and the door held slightly open with a broom handle. Fortunately the alcohol content prevents the beer freezing when it gets below zero. 🍺👍

So when you say "fridge in the outbuilding" does that mean you can drink beer while on the john? Classy!

Catch-22 was set in WWII, I think most of the action takes place in Italy.
MASH was set in the Korean war. The film set was in Malibu Creek State Park and a lot of the set was still there until a fire went through a few years ago. We visited it a few months before the fire. The hills in the background might look familiar from the opening credits. That's the missus behind the ambulance.
