I met a black man on holiday who had sun burn & I didn’t think it would happen to their skin tone. Then it explained why the gardeners were fully covered up in the sun & heat.

I worked in London as a teenager and one of my Indian pals went to India as part of her arranged wedding preparations. She came back a much darker shade.

A few weeks ago i was chatting with a colleague at work about washing machines... the fastest wash on mine is a measly 1hour and 20 minutes. She couldn't believe it as her machine can do a wash in 25 mins or something daft. I figured it was because my machine was cheap, but yesterday I had a closer look at the big dial and noticed a setting labelled 'quick' ...my new fastest setting is 13 minutes and it only took me 18 months to find it.

Which bit of the moon have you been hiding on?

We get 15 mins wash out of ours, just has to be a Samsung.
What happened to Hoover? And Hotpoint?

Oh, yes, they thought they could run an airline

Hoover and Hotpoint were (and are) completely different companies and are competitors.

Both still produce washing machines (among other things).

Hoover became part of the Candy group a good few years ago, and then the whole lot got taken over by Haier - a Chinese company - in 2019 (I was working for Hoover at the time).

good discovery but i don't entirely trust quick progs - get up early, do a full load of whatever, let it take its time. some of those fast progs have mimimal loads and are therefore very inefficient on energy and water when all is factored in. (and quite possibly in washing time as well) Not everything in life has to be fast/you don't have to demand performance from everything.
