You got my vote!Parking on the pavement etc. Car is towed and only released on payment of an eye watering, ball crushing fee is paid. Anti social drivers, lose the car full stop, and since they are most likely to be under 26, their license forever and a day!
I could go on but ..........
My GF assures me that this is a ‘62 Charlie’ offence , ( in Richmond) or a Setion 72 amended of the 1835 Higways Act .......no less !
When I was still at my parents home, there was a continual bout of double parking because one resident parked outside their house, the bloke opposite thought it was clever to park outside his house, dead opposite until there was a fire at a house further down the road, the fire brigade couldn’t get past and had to go door knocking to get both vehicles shifted and were not amused, when they had put the fire out, they went back to these two idiots and told them in no uncertain terms that if they had been out they would have rammed their way through with the appliance and sent these two the bill for repairs to the fire appliance, strangely enough the stupid parking stopped after that.I haven't read all 8 pages so this site might have been linked already. My own temple of annoyance for bad parking is the Trafford Centre, where hundreds of folk think it is fine to park on pavements and double yellows because they are too lazy to go to the overflow car parks. It will only need one major incident where fire engines can't get through and lives will be lost.
Apologies for the swearword. Actually, there is a lot more swearing on that blog these days, so please don't click if easily offended. Also, I will understand if Mods don't like the link.
Seen them bounce cars out of the way before. Non to gently either. When I was still at my parents home, there was a continual bout of double parking because one resident parked outside their house, the bloke opposite thought it was clever to park outside his house, dead opposite until there was a fire at a house further down the road, the fire brigade couldn’t get past and had to go door knocking to get both vehicles shifted and were not amused, when they had put the fire out, they went back to these two idiots and told them in no uncertain terms that if they had been out they would have rammed their way through with the appliance and sent these two the bill for repairs to the fire appliance, strangely enough the stupid parking stopped after that.
The fenders on fire engines are bolt-on-bolt-off, designed to be easily replaced if they do have to push cars out of the way. There is legislation that specifically permits trumpton to do this if absolutely necessary, and makes the car owners liable for the cost of repairs to the wagon. They may also find themselves liable if the delay leads to loss of life or damage to property that might have been avoided if the water fairies had not been delayed.Seen them bounce cars out of the way before. Absolutely as it should be, stupid parking should not cost some poor innocent further down the street to possibly loose their life because of it.The fenders on fire engines are bolt-on-bolt-off, designed to be easily replaced if they do have to push cars out of the way.
