Well after soaking in paraffin for a good 24 hrs I am surprised how the crank has come up.

I am not convinced it was chrome before , but I think I am happy at this .

After another couple of attempts at unscrewing either side bottom bracket cup's and not getting anywhere i handed it over to my lbs for them to do it .

I have had a good look at the vcc archive and i think it could be a Model 124 ie deluxe sports tourist or some thing else

Just been to collect the Rudge from my lbs

Bottom bracket all sorted.

They even had an original key and key fob that fits the steering lock

Your badge looks to be in better nick, but just be VERY careful if you decide to clean it, as the colour doesn't tolerate much aggression before it comes off. And I learned that one from bitter experience - !

With a bit more tinkering this morning .

Just completed first two and quarter mile road test.

And it's on commuting duty today and the rest of the week hopefully .

It need's a bell or horn as it's very smooth and quiet on the cycle path's

Well I managed two and a half commutes on the Rudge before the rear tyre decided enough was enough

Tyre and tube now replaced along with a bit more rear wheel cleaning so all ready to go hopefully 2moro
