Runnng 25mm Durano`s and they aint slowing me down in fact quite the opposite. In fact my tyre of choice is usually Mich Pro 3 or 4 in a 23mm but if I buy new ones i think i will try 25s. Wish my fixed wheel could take 25s as I would be all over that size like a cheap suit. The ride quality is much better but alot may depend on your physical size. If you are a lightweight whippet then smaller tyres should be good, but for those carrying a bit more `muscle` then 25s FTW !

600 miles so far and as good as the day I got them, so looking good on the reliabilty front as well!

Just curious whether you noticed a difference in ride comfort stepping down from the 25's to 23's? Also, what weight are you out of interest? Last question, latex tubes or butyl?

I am around 85 kg at the moment and no I have not really noticed any difference in comfort even when doing a century. I am going to be doing an even longer ride, just shy of 200 miles next week, with a small seat post pannier on board, so I guess that will be the acid test.

I am not 100% sure what the tubes are now, I had always assumed they were latex, they are not expensive ones, I did not realise there was another type!

Cool, that's good to know. I'm a few kg's lighter than you and was concerned switching from my GP4000's 25's to 23's might result in a much more uncomfortable ride.

Ah, suspect they may be butyl then. They tend to be the norm and are generally cheaper than latex. From what I hear about latex it's more comfortable and has a lower rolling resistance.

Well I`m a good 10kg heavier than both of you, 25s for me seem to be a godsend. They roll great but that could also be the wheels.

Did you go from 23 to 25 then due to comfort?

FYI - I'm running 25's atm and I'm happy enough with them (so some would say - why change?) - but with the upcoming tri season (and having stuck clip-on aerobars on my road bike) I'm considering sticking a 23 on the front (keeping a 25 on the back) - marginal aero gains and all that  Was just curious whether I'll find it a big drop in comfort.

new bike came with 25s already, always had 23s on my road bikes but the 25s, are way more comfy and are not hindering me at all.
