Wife and I had ours two weeks ago. Pfizer. 10 weeks to the next one. Maybe felt a bit tired for a day (that's fairly normal, tbh, I’m always tired!) but no other side effects. Certainly lifted our spirits, positive mood, spring is coming, all good!

Many thanks for posting this @Archie_tect.

Couldn't have been simpler once I had figured out to hit the "continue" key rather than "next" after selecting a date. Doh!

First jab tomorrow, second slips in just under the 12 weeks in May.

Lots of centres but none too close to me which rather surprised me.

Will probably allow an hour for the walk each way - easy bike ride but maybe best avoid after a jab.

edit - I didn't notice any initial screen appearing to say that they hadn't yet reached me - just invited to put in my date of birth and NHS number and all then went straight through.

I only got the choice of one site over 20 miles away in Washington [Tyne and Wear!] at the end of next week... since I let people know round here they've all got jabs tomorrow or on Saturday in Newcastle and Gosforth, less than 6 miles away! Ah well.

You don’t want it on a Wednesday. That’s the day after all the vaccinators have a big piss up. So they’ll be hung over and inject you with a glow in the dark dye for a laugh...

I would have thought that would be every day, the thought of having to deal with the public face to face on a daily basis, 'hello who are you', 'okay roll your sleeve up', wipe, stab, 'go sit over there' repeat, repeat, repeat, how many can a jabber do in a day? 20 an hour? 12 hour shift minus breaks, 200 a day?

That joke would have worked better the other way around.

Surely they’d have their weekly piss upon a Saturday night when all the pubs and clubs stay open later?

Oh. Hang on.

I'm over 60, I'm happy to wait to be contacted by my surgery.
You think it's queue jumping?
I don't think it is or I wouldn't have even tried - after all I gave all my details.
After architect's kind post I went online and found this.

https://www.brixtonbuzz.com/2021/02/over-60s-can-book-their-covid-vaccination-online-now/

It's all official.

My surgery can from experience by slightly sloppy at contacting folk about stuff.
And by booking now I have cut out a lot of uncertainty and I can work around the dates.
I would have thought it helps the NHS management of resources to have folks slot themselves in online if they can.

I respect that view, but they also maybe glad if you went to a national centre to ease their own backlog. Assuming you have the ability to travel there & free up the local ones for people who can't.

My guess is that some areas are more advanced in the programme than others. On one hand, while that is inevitable in a scheme of this magnitude, the government for political reasons will be anxious that distribution is seen to be as even as possible across the country. On the other hand, it and the NHS does not want vaccination centres twiddling their thumbs while other regions play catch-up. Introducing some largely unadvertised leeway into the system to take up some spare capacity seems to be a good thing for all concerned.
