My point is it doesn't sound 'unsafe ' to me.

So your perception of unsafe is down to your view of things.

Do you genuinely feel 'unsafe ' because you've passed someone closer than 2m away?

As said, what have you been doing for the last 12 months?

It doesn't sound particularly safe to me, but that's the point, vaccination done and moving slowly towards a better world .

Had my first COVID-19 jab this afternoon, everything went very smoothly, they asked if I was allergic to anything and if I had any questions, I was then given the shot and told to sit in the allotted area for 15 minutes in case of a reaction, then I was allowed to go. I was given the Pfizer vaccine, not that I care, I would have been happy with any that was offered me.

What a wonderful service the NHS is.

Had our first jab this morning (AstraZeneca). Very well organised and socially distanced. Asked to confirm name, d.o.b and address and whether we had any allergies. In and out all done in about 5 minutes. Told to wait in the car for 15 minutes before going home. If either of us felt unwell during this time to just honk the horn and a marshall would summon immediate assistance. Didn't hear a single honk while we were there and we are both absolutely fine no sign of any side effects at all. Excellent service!

Booked our jabs today. Essex is either very busy or very slow beacuse first available date at the nearest centre offered was the 16th. It's less than 10 miles away but I know there are (or will be) nearer places. Will keep on looking just in case.

Received my letter yesterday, so immediately tried to book. First try came up with one in Norwich which was fine but second jab in mid Suffolk! Tried again this morning and mid Suffolk now closest for both jabs. I'll wait a day and try again, frustrating as they're being done in the nearest town which is 5 miles away. Would prefer not have to drive 60 miles.

Phone them up and see if they can help with something more local

Good idea @vickster but same result! Helpful young man, all he suggests is I keep trying and hopefully something will become available closer soon. I'm going to be patient, I've been careful for so long a bit longer won't make much difference to me.

Just been jabbed at Sheffield Arena very efficient plenty of marshals but not in an intrusive way. Only thought its if somebody had walking difficulties then it wouldn't be great but there maybe other options available to them. Very impressed but it was early 8:45

Would love to but the £1,700 hotel bill and not being allowed back into my adopted country is a deal breaker.
I've as much chance as a slug in a salt mine of being vaccinated this year due to the laughable EU "coordinated" (🤣) response.
Blighty is boss of the grown up nations as far as the vaccine rollout goes. Israel doesn't count, its a tiny little country with a population smaller by a long way than Greater London.

If coming from France, I think you have to test and quarantine/self-isolate - not in a designated hotel @ £1700

Red list country arrivals have to stay in approved hotel

However, you can't just come back for a vaccine unfortunately unless you are resident and registered with NHS

One of the doctors at the practice I am still registered with is a family friend. Any correspondence from the practice goes to my UK address. There is no way short of scanning passenger lists of telling that I have not been in the country, council tax, phone, water, gas and electric all paid along with income tax on my UK earnings.
The government in its wisdom does not agree with this but I am still domiciled for tax in the UK, as I see it I paid my dues for 43 years and continue to do so.
Things changed years ago and ex patriots whether they had private health insurance in their new country or not became excluded from treatment in the UK if considered not resident, 6 months away.
I'm a British national and I paid the system for my entire working life short of zero months.

I don’t follow. Have you been invited to be vaccinated if you’re still registered? If so, can’t you take it up (after 10 days quarantine?)
