If it was nearby - maybe an hour or so drive - then I might go and watch

but Leeds is a bit too far

especially if I won;t be able to watch the rest of it on the telly after anyway!

We trained up to Harrogate from the wirral last time - fantastic day - well worth the effort.

Very good news.

Sounds like it’s going to cover a lot of ground over 3 days.

The question is whether to spend some time in what will be a very expensive Edinburgh or come up with a plan to catch it in multiple locations.

I’m hoping for Buttertubs and Swaledale again after a Leeds start. Anything else is a bonus.

Isn't the point to get people to go watch it live by the roadside? 🤷‍♂️

In France, the point for half those along the roadside is to grab as many tat freebies as possible, chucked out by the publicity caravan.
Some don’t even stay to watch the race go past.

It’s occurred to me that there are going to be some hefty transfers over that opening, UK weekend.

Is Yorkshire confirmed?

I can see possibilities like a Newcastle-Carlisle stage followed by (say) Liverpool -North Wales - would keep most transfers below a couple of hours. Cardiff might be a killer to reach though.

Now wait a minute! Just google some pictures from the last time they visited Yorkshire.

Did you miss the in France bit?
Admittedly the French can be a strange bunch and most folks get the roadside opportunity every few years, but it’s a fact that the race can come second to circus.

Assuming they are, as expected, finishing one stage in Cardiff, and it is on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, I think I will be taking a day off to go and watch it somewhere on that day's route. If it is any of Sat - Tue I won't need a day off, but will still be watching.

You would hope this would inspire someone to pick up the FTA rights, so we only have 1 year in the wilderness. It just seems like such a huge opportunity to miss.

Hey, maybe our dreams will come true and WBD will realise their mistake and reactivate Eurosport in the UK for the 2027 season!

Would think there is no reason why they cannot make TNT like Discovery Plus and only allow you access to the part you have paid for.
