We went over to see my parents yesterday
Dad gave me these 3 to read
Cor!, that eco-Corsa (our ‘free’ car) is a bit sluggish!

Just bear in mind the words of a former neighbour who bought an Impreza brand new, it was kept about 3 months, his exact words as to why it had gone was I've never had a car use as much petrol in my life

My SIL had a STI WRX Prodrive 320 bhp of this era and while he is a petrol head and often drove like it, he always said, horrendous car for fuel consumption, something like 25.mpg on a very good day

Looking at the Vectra in that brochure, my instant reaction was an SXI, son had one with those alloys while my slightly newer SRI had the multi spoke alloys.
SRI in the brochure, an early model perhaps ?

My brother had a astra sri went well.
120 no problem!

I had a new Cavalier SRi 130 for about 4 months whilst I was waiting for my company 320i Touring to arrive, it was a good, fast long distance car, used it for a trip to Scotland and the French Alps, the 320i felt sluggish and heavy in comparison

Or various wheel options???.

I suspect the brochure features early Vectras given its showing the lineage. Probably those alloys were indeed SRI spec then got demoted to SXI when the newer multi spoke ones came in (which I always loved but weren't easy to clean)
The SRI was a really nice car, half leather, nice styling (I thought), the 1.8 petrol gave enough performance is you were just Joe average, fairly nice interior, and driven carefully would display 50mpg.
It didn't do anything extraordinarily well but did almost everything more than adequately well.

Friday 1st

Spotted on my ride to work earlier this morning

That roof-rack would look more at home on a Transit, or other similar sized van, than on a Renault Megane!

Given Renaults, and French car manufacturers in general, flair for the unusual I wouldn't have been surprised if that was a stock option on the car when new!

I had a 2010 SRI but only the 1.6 petrol. It really zipped up through the gears, good acceleration for a NA car but felt like it would blow up at high speed. I know the 1.9 turbo diesels went really well....

I drove to work this morning in the ’free Corsa’, & during the journey the trip-odometer turned over 100miles!
No!!, that’s not the length of my commute

It is however, the mileage covered since its MOT test 2 calendar months ago (4th September), as l reset it, after putting fuel in less than a mile from the MOT test station

It wasn’t even physically touched all of last week, let alone driven anywhere

This was a 1990 g late one so light with 125bhp gsi had about 150 irrc??

Audi's aren't my kind of car
This particular one was far too ostentatious & certainly not a 'sleeper', like the earliest RS4 (& definitely not like this awesome Superb, but I followed a '21' plated RS6 estate out of Wakefield yesterday

I'm not sure what engine they have, whether a V8, or that V10(?), but it certainly sounded good!!
