I've never done that course, I'm at work and I see cyclists going by on their summer bikesLooking to do stage 5, 3 sisters, at 4 today. Be looking at a finish I think rather than a specific time. Won't be pushing hard, will just look to get in a group of like fitness riders and sandbag my way to the finish
Picked up the SS earlier, and yes, there are loads of cyclists out .... I may well be one of them later, might spin out for an hour as warmup for the 3 sistersI've never done that course, I'm at work and I see cyclists going by on their summer bikes
Done it this morning and tried new tactics that worked a treatLooking to do stage 5, 3 sisters, at 4 today. Be looking at a finish I think rather than a specific time. Won't be pushing hard, will just look to get in a group of like fitness riders and sandbag my way to the finish

try and hold a group on the flat , try and jump a group up hill and coast down hill stuffing my face and not worry if i lose a group
if i pedal up to 3wkg down a 10% I go roughly 43 mph
If I do nothing and let him sit on crossbar down same hill I get 42 mph
I may as well rest up and refuel !
I was lucky I stumbled across a lone Brit and we helped each other for ages to catch a Japanese bloke on his own and we were sharing ( as much as I could ) till we got swarmed and I wasn’t strong enough to keep with them all and let them fly away down the home stretchLee, looking at your time against mine, I lost most of the time,as expected going up the Pretzel and again up the Volcano. Your climbing ability and time gains trumps flat power
You'll be fine. Just don't over-cook it on the 2nd climb (epic KOM to the tower).Looking to do stage 5, 3 sisters, at 4 today. Be looking at a finish I think rather than a specific time. Won't be pushing hard, will just look to get in a group of like fitness riders and sandbag my way to the finish
i seem to fall alittle behind as the hill starts then jump ahead abit at the end of the hill - but dont know if thats because others ramp up effort just before and ease off at the topGuys using the neo do u get any lag I get a few seconds lag it's all paired as smart
Notice it a lot when going from flat to incline
I took it very easy off the start. Was 560th at one point, got to big mountain and pushed a little bit. Got to 380th and saw @Norry1 who seemed to be either struggling, or taking it easy so sat with Martin until about 500 metres from the top when he put on the afterburners! I figured he must be feeling good so went with him, problem is I don't think he was feeling that good as we got on the climb to the tower and he dropped back. I tempo'd to the tower then picked up a couple of guys on the down. Did a bit with these 2 until the 1% after the flat, when I pushed on again to catch a group of about 10. Stayed with these, doing most of the work! Until the volcano - pushed on up the volcano, dropping this group until my bloody chain dropped! Got it back on quickly, caught up with everyone who had already passed me. On the down of volcano I had no one at first, passing a few on the down. Just before the bottom another rider caught me and we rode together to the end. I was pushing 3 w/kg but she was up to 3.2, going 3.5 at times. I tried to share the work but she wanted to stay in front so I got a nice tow to the finish. I held back on the sprint as I didn't think it would be fair to out sprint someone who had dragged me for about 3 kmDone it this morning and tried new tactics that worked a treat

Hey Martin, don't blame me for that blast up the final bit of the KoM .... you just shot off and I was trying my damned to stay on your wheel I thought maybe you was feeling OK, but you seemed to fade again to the tower so I pushed on again. You're right though, maybe not our wisest decisionDid Stage 5 today. Went out quite quickly but about a third of the way up the Epic KOM I backed right off as I was feeling really heavy legged and tired. I was close to packing in but then noticed I was next to @Whorty We rode together for a bit then for some reason we both pushed quite hard up to the finish of that climb. After that I backed right off again and just ambled round. At least I completed the Stage which I doubt I would have if I hadn't bumped into Carl. Maybe time for a couple of consecutive rest days

In all, a nice little ride And I had already been out in the real world for a 40 minute spin on the SS so a good work out today
