I too have something similar for my setup. It’s also linked to Alexa - but the silly b1tch often can’t understand me when I’m panting instructions to her over the sound of the turbo/music 😃
Haha!

I get the same problem with Alexa.

Me: "Alexa. Turn on Garage Fan"

Alexa: "Garage doesn't understand xxxx" (I can't ever hear what Garage doesn't understand over the noise of Spotify)

Me "********"

Alexa has enough problems with "norn iron" accents without fan and turbo noise. Tried it once and I'm sure my neighbours were convinced I was murdering a very polite but bewildered person repeating "sorry I don't understand."

I wired the three larger fans to a 3 way dimmer switch which is on a shelf just to the left of the turbo.

I don’t often have all three fans going, maybe I will if I ride through the summer. But having the dimmers is really nice because it means you can control the fan speed as I get hotter, cranking it up slowly. The two small ones attached to the neo bike stem aren’t very powerful but they’re quite nice when you’re just warming up.

Sorry the pictures are so big I can’t work out how to re size them...
that set up would have me clinging on for dear life

Seems I'll be off the bike for a few more days at least. Still struggling to walk and certainly still in trouble transferring wifey, so can't afford to risk it by doing a ride. Managed to keep wifey out of hospital, although there was a lot of pressure to have her admitted for a few days to help me recover. I refuse to let that happen unless we have literally no other options available. Been provided with a mobile hoist, and OT is due to come and show us how to use it tomorrow - this should be a step in the right direction.

Feeling a bit more positive today, so again thanks to all the support on here - makes a big difference when things are going badly :okay:

Hope things are on the up for you soon, @Whorty. Do you know what the problem is with your back? Have you got chiropractor or physio lined up to help with your recovery? Probably too early now but recovery usually starts fairly soon after an injury (assuming it’s muscular).

Gale force 9 in the @<Tommy> pain cave!

Am I the only one who has a fan behind them? I have always had a floorstanding fan in front of me but was noticing that my jerseys were soaked with sweat on the back so have a smaller desk fan on my back.

Now with the desk fan on my back I feel more comfortable and jerseys aren’t soaked on the back so sweating must be more productive. At times I feel cold though so do use a smart plug on the desk/rear fan. I like the dimmer switch idea though - I’m just not clued you enough to achieve it!

I like having the fans coming from different angles on a lower setting rather than one fan on a high setting. But obviously all just personal preference and trial and error. Burninglegs it never occurred to me to put one behind the turbo but I think it’s a real good idea. At this point I’m about 3 fans away from full on levitation!

@CXRAndy on the other hand... I’ve heard his fan while we’re racing using the headsets. And let’s just say there’s jumbo jets that would be proud to have one of those under their wings!

It's a muscle problem, been going on for some time but never popped completely like this time. Normally I can cope with it and still move; never been stuck on the floor before and not able to get up for half an hour. Was a smidge unnerving; couldn't even get to the phone to call 999, but even if I could, i couldn't get to the door to let them in! Meds are kicking in a bit now so able to walk a bit - transferring wifey still precarious to say the least but I have to keep doing it else social services will insist she goes into a home if they have a bed, or hospital and I just can't let that happen. I guess it could be worse .. we could live in Oz

I always suspected that when your heart is at 180 bpm it won’t blow strong enough.

when I had it out in front of the bike and Neo the wind comes in a narrow band and my Tacx tablet and bottle holder would divert the flow away from me , I then had it at an angle but the flow was less effective and 3 or 4 times out of ten it would not connect to my heart rate monitor so had to start re-linking, got to be a bit of a faff in the end so it went

Such a terrible over priced gimmick. The mother in law got me a cheap white thing a year ago but it’s not loud & freezes you on setting 3. In summer of a tower fan blowing from behind too.
