Errrmmmm, time to confess, I have never actually done a single race on Zwift!!:blush::blush:.

All my rides have been on Sub 2 or 2.5 social events, or as you say 100km+ endurance stuff.

If I'm honest with myself today's ride is.probably fairly indicative of where I am right now, if anything I was probably only at 90 to 95% effort anyway
Is this on the NEO too? You're beating me up on BRVR goat league and now on Zwift :surrender: 70 seconds behind you tonight :heat:

Saw @Del C briefly as the group i was in caught his group up and merged. This was just after we came off the KoM and was on the 1% drag section. I assume he was in the same group I finished in. Saw @Brusgaard in cool down, but I see he was a minute ahead in the race. Didn't see Lee, Paul and Brendan but with 3000 riders I'm not surprised!

Are you asking to be bumped up to cat A?

I think you will find Whorty now rounds UP not DOWN
Nooooooo, always round down  Maybe I should be a D cat rider

Just for you Bob, I won't change my weight until I'm below 78.5kg (certainly won't be changing before Thursday anyway as I've already ridden stage 1 at 79kg and wouldn't be right to then ride it at a lower weight).

How far was Del behind me? i assumed he was directly behind in the same group but on ZP there was a 25 second difference.
25 seconds behind you.

I really had to dig in on the last 5kms and couldn’t quite hold the merged group on the inclines before the Italian village.

I wasn’t sure that I would ride tonight as I’ve had a bit of sinus trouble today and felt a bit achy, but once I was on the bike I felt ok. I went out hard, was holding near to 300W early on and was just inside the top 500. That wasn’t going to last and I slipped back to around 690 but still putting out 250W plus on the way into the jungle.

Got into a good group in the jungle but lost about 25 places on the climb out as I stupidly tried to reply to you when you messaged what position you were in! I said 688 into my iPhone which converted it into garbage, which I had to discard and then exit from messages. I don’t think I’ll be trying that again.

I actually made quite a few of those places back before the exit climb was over and pushed hard on the descent, and then I saw your name flash up as the group behind closed.

As I said above, I really had to hang on through the volcano but just couldn’t hold the group you escaped with.

But overall, pretty pleased with my ride. That’s the 3rd race in a row I’ve averaged 3.2W/kg with an average wattage this time of 257W. It’s looking like I may need to sign up for the @Whorty diet to benefit further!

Not bad viewing surprisingly . You were going well but looked like it caught up with you a bit near the end.
It did.

My power was dropping down to around 220W in the last 4kms or so, with a few exceptions, like when I kicked on the short volcano climb.

I lost that 25s to Carl in those last 5kms. That was a shame, but it was still a good ride overall.

When we caught you I was on my limit. I kept expecting you to come past me. I wouldn't have been able to respond.

The position I finished was my highest placing all ride. I guess like everyone else, I kept getting caught in those damn sticky drafts on the inclines. But then on the descents and flats I'm thankful of all the drafting I can get.

Had no idea where you all were when I posted 733 I'm glad now you didn't respond as I may have burned too many matches trying to bridge!

Good race though. Sets the league up for some good battles :okay:

Cracking time @berty bassett

I'd like to say I was taking it really easy but 285 watts is usually about as good as it gets for me in a race like that - will have to see if I can eek anything more out on Thursday!
you will smash it mate . the amount of people just drag you along at a cracking pace , i only stuck my nose out infront once and soon tucked back in !
normal service will be resumed come thurs ^_^
