Just updated the companion app and checked out the meet up feature, you select the date then course that you want for that date, then either distance or time then select your friends very simple so when's our first meeting then.

Are you on iPhone? Just tried it on mine and couldn't see the feature there. I'm on the latest release too

Yep found the update waiting for me in the App Store and downloaded this morning.

Looks really interesting. Races, social rides and handicap races all seem possible.

Yeah, meetups AKA private races are now available in the new companion app. Time to do some CycleChat Chaingang races, like in the good old days on Bkool?

This is great news but I'm not sure it's quite there yet in terms of being able to set up proper races like we did in Bkool. From what I read above it doesn't sound like it will hide other riders on the road, or allow for the meet-up to be classed as a race, so no leaderboard at the end (and no Zwift Power info). That will make it hard to have a meaningful race amongst ourselves as other riders on the road will confuse the placings and we'll have no way to even review them after the event.

It's a start though - hopefully they'll add functionality to it in time.

I can't tell from the (limited) bits i've read so far, but if we set up a meet for say 6 o'clock, were would we 'meet'? If it's the greater London flat, for example, would we meet on the Mall, or in the start gates down by Tower Hill?

From what I have seen in screenshots, it dumps you all by the side of the road in a group, but at a random location.
