When the fly wheel is moving I get no slipping at 500 watts, the problems occur at low cadence only (below 65 rpm). I do need to get another belt but I'll try another car belt as these have the exact same teeth, length etc as the wahoo one and the cheaper ones have been used by others with no problems at all.

All it really means is I ride at 40% on Zwift as anything over 7% reality just slips, and I can't ride on Bkool (even if I wanted to) as you can't change realism on there.

When I first got it, for the 3 rides before the belt snapped, it did seem OK and I was at 100% realism. I'm just reluctant to pay £50 for something that should be no more than a tenner.
Yes you can. When selecting the session there is a slope reduction slider in the 3rd tab. You can't do that on the fly though. It's a whole session or nothing adjustment afaik.

I can stamp on the pedals from zero and there is no slippage.

The Belt needs to be from Wahoo or get 'Gates power grip GT' from the USA. This is what Wahoo use 5M 170t 15

Here is a company that seems to sell the same belt

But does slope reduction work the same as the Zwift realism setting. In Zwift the speed is controlled by the power so changing the realism, assuming you hit the same power, shouldn't impact speed. Never tried the setting in Bkool but I saw that as just reducing the slope from say 10% to 5% hence your speed would be faster. But as i've never actually tried it I'm not sure.

Also, if I change the slope on Bkool and someone joins me what do they get? My slope % or their own? Anyone ever tried this?

. :headshake: , never used it so I don't know . I'd just confuse myself and forget to turn it back to where it should be if it was a permanent setting .

I rode for the first time in a month today, just the commute to work and back but it's nice to get back on a bike  I'll probably commute on the bike again tomorrow and then potentially try my first Zwift FTP test on Friday afternoon when I'm done at work. Ideally I'd like it done by the end of the weekend so I can start the 6 week FTP builder training plan on Monday. The main issue I have is I'm away on business for 3 days in week 3 and potentially away on business for 5 days in week 6 which could really screw it up  I don't really have any options there as I go away regularly - I doubt there'll ever be a 6 week period where I'm not out of the country at some point. How does Zwift deal with this? Can you "fail" a training plan? I don't mind starting it on the off chance that I might not finish it but it would be pretty annoying to never finish one

I don't have high hopes for my first FTP result

You just do the individual workouts which form the training plan, so there is no penalty for not completing them. That being said you'll likely lose some of the benefit by being away, so might be worth looking at trying to do some of the sessions in a hotel gym if possible.

I'm on the 17:15 10 mile TT race tonight if anyone interested. Cat C. Don't forget, no drafting, so no point in blasting out of the blocks!
