I raced before you but totally buggered up my tactics. I hadn't noticed it was a TT and we were on TT bikes, so I went off hard to try to get into a group and draft. I was up to about 30th when I realised that I was on a TT bike By then I'd already burned quite a few matches so I had to get my legs back and that's when 50 riders came past me, all pushing over 3 watts per kilo. I could only manage 2.5 until I'd recovered. Had a good battle with about 10 riders and managed to get the power back up again.I’m on now for the 6pm Stage 4.
Flat time trial isn’t really my speciality
I'll have to try and improve this segment
Good time Bob

Blinkin idiot ...... must learn to read the rules before the race Came 94th in the end out of 182 so not too shabby considering I went off far too fast I think I averaged about 2.7 w/k which I'm quite pleased with although really I should have really hit a few more.
Well that explains it I done just the same didn't even realise until I seen ur post I avg 2.6 which is good for me but my legs r gone they need a rest is there a catch up day if we miss a stage
Possibly put there to elicit just this response
Lol Not being able to draft does take it out on the legs, that's for sure. No, no catch up days. With the ride Sunday morning I'll miss a few stages myself but you get the jersey just for doing one stage..Well that explains it I done just the same didn't even realise until I seen ur post I avg 2.6 which is good for me but my legs r gone they need a rest is there a catch up day if we miss a stage
So I have to choose a TT bike to cancel draft feature and choose a race for that course. where did the race start?
Yep.
On the pier.
You also have to race Watopia 8 the day before. None of this 100k irl-doesn’t count
Aim to hit the volcanoe entrance as close to 16 min as possible and you should then break 18 min.
Had a choice of ToC stage 5 or a tattoo this afternoon, so went with the less painful option ..... I now have a new tattoo Might try the next stage tomorrow but not at race pace as I have this 50 mile local ride on Sunday that is quite hilly, and finishes up the cobbles (pave ) of Gold Hill Shaftesbury. This is my test to see how ready I am for the DD this yearJust rode the jungle course. Fell off the 2nd fast moving group just before the wooden bridge with a fluffed gear change and was 30 sec down in no time stuck alone in no mans land. Held 3.5 waiting for next group of 4-6 to join and eventually we pulled in a few stragglers. We rolled out of the jungle and a few tried to get away but I stuck with them, and then they tried again out of the volcano. Just held on and everyone really slowed and then as we came around under the rocks they went again. I tucked in and beat them all in the sprint with pretty low watts suggesting we were all spent. Shame I couldn’t stay with the other larger group because they finished nearly 2 min ahead.

dont forget it was windy wooNote to oneself, don't go and ride 60+ miles the day before TT. All those who did were much slower than their usual TT time. my HR was about 7bpm lower-signs of a little fatigue
