He could, and he probably should, but he is equally within his rights to keep them open - there are no rules in Strava to say he has to, he hasn't signed a contract or is obliged to do this, so ultimately the problem is the 'system' and not this rider. I think the anger is aimed at the wrong person, and whatever this guy should or shouldn't do morally, I don't think he deserves some of the vile comments he's received.
matters not a jot to me ! if i was in second place i would be peed off but i ain't so i dont care

incentive to go for top spot. If the numbers are just off the planet then disregard them.

I do with the first 20,000 on Strava:tongue:

Is that an alloy frame Tommy? I like the colour and detail of joints.

What groupset/wheels are you putting on?

Thanks Andy. Like fossyant said it’s the way Colnago still make their c-series frames. Using lugs makes them a bit heavier than modern manufacturing methods but also makes a difference to the way they ride. I’m going to put etap on it. The brakes are direct mount and Sram don’t make direct mount brakes so I’m going with different brake callipers. I have everything I need to build it up apart from the bars and stem which I’m getting Monday. And I’ve ordered a new wheelset but I’m waiting for a delivery date. I think it’ll be a couple of weeks before I have it finished. I told the missus it was a project to keep me busy all summer...

I hope it' not going on a trainer. That' a C64 carbon. It' the way Colnago have always done the joints.

I was a bit scared about putting carbon bikes on the turbo. But I did it for the first time this winter and to be honest I forgot about it after a couple of minutes.

A high end Colnago has always been on my wish list, but since the busted spine I'm going nowhere near a road any longer. The wish has changed to a Hope HB160

I always wanted one too. It’s a bit of a cliche but because it’s got a bit of heritage behind it I think it’ll be a bike I keep forever. Unless it cracks or gets stolen...

Can you pop the wheels on for another pic? Tan wall tubs?

I’m not sure about the tan walls Bob. I like tan walls but the frame is quite busy and maybe it just needs black tubs. I don’t know though...

This.
I tend to agree with Carl but this guy was being incredibly naive or wilful about the reaction his time would cause. All of it could have been avoided if he had kept the ride private. Still, the vitriol and stupidity in some of the posts
^_^

Randy explained his owntechnique for using the filter options on strava a few months ago, which I think we can al get on board with!
I'm only interested in 2 filters for any segment in Strava - my own previous times, and the times of those in the CycleChat Strava group. Any other times are irrelevant to me

I think Tommy was referring to my technique of narrowing down the parameters until I'm number one. IE Veteran 3, over 200 lb , American, Alaskan, Sitkan with a German city for a last name and a dog named Kipster. I'm number 1!!!

Edit. @TurboTommy just finished your great aunt's second book and I see your namesake gets a shout out for moving to Ireland in 1610.

Tommy, I think Sram recently announced direct mount brakes.

I didn’t know that Bob. To be honest though I’ve had Sram brakes and they’re not as good as Shimano in my opninon. That might be different with the direct mount brakes because with the calliper version they were a pain to keep centred. That won’t be a problem with DM but they’re also a little spongy in comparison to Shimano. So anyways... with that logic safely tucked away in my pocket I got s set of EE direct mount brakes

That’s the filter I’m talking about Randy! It’s that spirit that made me create a KOM that finishes in my hallway. Good luck getting past my dog to claim that one b!tches!! :gun: ^_^
