The forced 6 months off definitely didn't help, then I decided that weights and the gym was a higher priority so I've been cycling much less. I think my top C/bottom B days are gone t be honest. If I can get close to 3.2 w/kg again I'll be happy but also surprised. I'll keep plugging on though and who knows. I'm just not planning to lose the muscle weight :training:

Ive grown to accept my current abilities, aspirations and family life. I too want more overall muscle, not a cyclist physique. If that compromises my racing ability, so be it.

I have put on a couple of Kg recently I am now 70kg was 68kg for a long time, but I seem to be getting better results.
I had a decent ride (for me) earlier this week on Braek-Fast Grits and Crits, the short punchy hills are my kind of hills
I stayed with the front group over the first hill but got dropped on the second rise, I dropped in with another group who I stayed with until halfway round the four small hills, on the final climb I caught someone 28secs in front, passed him just before the finish and took no notice of how he was doing, he outsprinted my for the line, 15th in race 12th on ZP a 4 point increase in ZRC, 3.3 w/kg which is at the top end of my efforts.

I tempo'd one event and had a few minutes before the next event. I reckon they have added a bit more time between events especially when hilly

Was really tight a couple of weeks ago but hopefully enough time if I don't burn too many matches. I'm hoping I can grab wheels on the flats of race 1 then tempo the climb. My problem of course is my power is significantly lower than everyone else in the pen so I may need to be on my limit just to hang on.
Race 2 is flatter so, as long as I make the pen I should be able to hang on to the pack until the end.
Should see a nice reduction in my ZRS though over the 4 races :wahhey:

I'm 83kg. At my best (top C /bottom B) I was 75kg. Would love to be back down to 75kg again

Exactly the same - at 54 I like I still hold good muscle and have decent guns and shoulders. As time goes on I suspect I'll lose some oof that, I can get the cycling body then when I hit my 70s ... until then I want to stay hunky for the girls :biggrin:

Signed up so far for the Tinies tomorrow. First race is uphill. I'm over 1 w/kg away from the strongest riders; this would never have happened under CE. I'm definitely coming last  My ZRS is going to tank big time tomorrow, however hard I race!

Phew, more signed up now. I may have some company at the back

I pity the 2.2 w/kg rider though. How they have ended up in a pen (pen number 2 mind) with multiple riders at 3.8+ w/kg I have no idea :banghead:

My @rse well and truly handed to me this morning

What was really funny was seeing riders get to the finish and putting the anchors on and trying to let others overtake them  Once we knew the cut to the next race was achievable, it became cat and mouse seeing who wanted to cross the line ahead and reduce their ZRS less ... high efforts to the finish so the Zwift tanking calc doesn't pick anything up wrong  Quite bizarre to see and never happened under CE

My ZRS will have tanked today! Full efforts still had me at the back of all 4 races and only beating the odd rider :wahhey:

I saw you were lower third in each race. According to ZRS, you're below the >280 category

First race had me drop to 264 from 272 (I think). Races 2, 3 an 4 had me dropping to 266 post race but now showing 267 in the app (late finishers?). The last 3 races were still using the same initial 272 ZRS score so I'm assuming my re-calc tonight will have me at about 260? Alex may have a better idea.

Totally pointless races in themselves for me, someone at my level having to race against riders averaging 4 w/kg ... but I needed a blast this morning and made sense to pick races that would also allow me to lower my ZRS and short enough that I wasn't solo riding for 30 minutes.

One positive, I thought I might struggle to hit the cutoffs but these races were a little shorter than the other week so I finished in plenty time each race to recover.

I looked up your results on Sauce this morning as I was curious. Looked like -6, -4, -4, -3. So -17 overall once the dust settles. So somewhere around 250. Maybe slightly above?

Just checked, my ZRS at the end of my last race pre Tinies was 270, so if -17 is accurate then my new ZRS is likely 253.
I think 253 is too low for me based on where I finish in races in 180-350 races but as I could only enter the 270-400 pen today it was pretty much guaranteed my ZRS would drop. There were very few other riders at my level.
