I think you only need one pen (for the moment), everyone starts together, unless you decide to try handicap starts. This gives the lower cats an opportunity (if they want) to push hard to stay with the higher cats. Those who don't want that early opportunity, are no worse than being in another pen either alone or just a couple of riders

It's all swings and roundabouts, really. It would be ideal if Zwift allowed me to choose which pen was at the front.
The problem with making it just one pen is that would then mean everyone is against everyone else in the results and it takes away the individual's "control". Also I think a lot of people wouldn't sign up. But who knows? I'm going to keep it as is for January and we'll see where that takes us. I think it was perfect last week when the D pen was at the front.

I'm in a dilemma for FRR stage 4 , fixed bike choice zwift bike but free wheel choice , Tonight's course in 3 legs Innsbruck then a KOM after party up the climb reverse I think . I've been full aero disc set so far which has enabled me to hang on to the front group and mix it in the sprints ,does tonight course tip it less aero and go with a lighter set ?

It’ll make between ‘no difference’ and ‘a very minuscule, virtually imperceptible difference’. If you’re very unlucky, it might cost you a position, but of course you’ll never know what’d happen otherwise .

I did the 10:30 event and there were very few disc wheels in the A pen. Personally went with the ENVE 7.8. I was completely done before the final climb started though so not that it mattered

I'm running the ENVE 7.8 wheels in most of my events regardless of terrain - using the Scott Addict bike instead of the Tron as my go-to nowadays. Best all-round results, especially for someone like me who struggles with climbing.

HI all! I've just joined Zwift after 6 years out of cycling, having been a bkool user in the past! I'm sure I've raced a number of you over on the dark side!
Looking forward to seeing you all zoom past me at some point soon ;-)
