Took advantage of everyone racing ztrl and entered the zwift hill climb league in Innsbruck. Managed to be the fastest C up the KOM so a 🏆 which is not as good as it sounds as I was the only C who entered 😁. Averaged 2.8w/kgs up the climb , not got my zwift fitness back yet in February I did it nearly 3 mins quicker with a heart rate 7 beats lower than today .

Congratulations fellas on your first of the season ZRL. Some very strong results.

From Paul's video , it looked particularly tough pace to keep up.

Pete got 2nd, congratulations 👏👏

I had a different sporting experience last night. I was filling in for missing member with my Lads visit to Hampden Park to watch England v Scotland on the 150th anniversary match. I have never been to a stadium that has been so loud with cheering fans. The Scots initially nearly shook the place down. My ears were ringing.

The flip side you could hear a pin drop when England scored.

The smallish contingent of English fans were extremely vocal in rubbing the Scots with their chanting

Guest speakers , old favourites of some Terry Butcher and Gordon Strachan

You have stronger fingernails than most! You can see me out the back at 25 minutes.

The average power scores were really high across the board. I wonder how much is new pack mechanics and how much was down to the scratch race nature

That's a good point - I actually think it might be a bit of both. We saw in the last ZRL the pace between segments was often REALLY slow because everyone was saving themselves for the next FTS points, and obviously you don't get that in a scratch race. But also I do wonder if the nature of the new pack dynamics is making a lot of people put out more power than they actually need to maintain their position (as we saw in that zwiftinsider video you don't move through the pack in the same way as before so it's easily done) and the cumulative affect of everyone upping their power actually ends up increasing the pace?

Oh and one more observation on last night's ZRL - how annoying were those bloody buritos? Felt like every time things were settling down or I'd got back in a decent pack position someone would drop one in front of me - and just when that one finished another one would be deployed :B)

I had Sauce for Zwift on my screen so could see the draft I was getting and the cone behind the rider deplying the burito is quite tight so you don't have to be much off to the side of someone dropping a burito ahead of you to be unaffected. Not that you have any choice of where you are in a non-stering race of course, but I was just surpised that you had to be almost directly behind someone
