After a week off zwiftng due to the nice sunny weather luring me outside ,today's forecast was rubbish 🌧️ ( and wrong ☀️) I had decided to finish off the tour of Watopia .Went long with the big loop which has the epic Kom near the start ,The field was well strung out as we hit the climb I settled in to a nice rythym and picked people off . I was trying for a sub 30min as I have never got below that before . Was presently surprised with a 28.02 , desperately sprinted at 6w/it's to try a dip under 28 min but failed . Into the Jungle and suffered for my effort on the climb out . Had a strange ride in with 1 other rider who kept going to the front then slowing to 0.7w/kg drop back 5 Mts then come back by at 3w/kg then repeat I just kept a steady effort of 2.6 w/kg until the ramp of the volcano circuit where I dropped him and rode solo to the finish 52nd of 160 odd

Yeah I decided to do a workout on the turbo because of the forecast and was looking at the blue sky as I trained!!

Well done. Sounds good.
After being ill with a wretched cold last week, I'm still "off racing" but I've been coming back gradually, doing mostly Zone 2 rides (with some small efforts) in ToW to try and scrounge up some extra XP while the opportunity is there. Still a long way to go to level 42, which is the next major worthwhile landmark (Cadex TT bike and DT Swiss disc wheel). Should break level 39 this week, but then still 50,000 xp to go. That's still a lot at 20xp/km  (2500km)

Really surprised you hadn't done under half an hour on the Epic before @13 rider. I'd have sworn blind you did that on the CCC ZRL warm-up event last year. I managed a PR of just a touch over 31 mins that evening and you finished comfortably ahead of me, so I figured you'd broken the mark back then.
My previous best was 30.16 which I think was on that ride Dec last year . I am really begining to feel the fitness gains of a winter zwifting . Pre zwift I've never trained I just rode my bike a lot and apart from the odd segment smash on strava I never did any full gas efforts . The intensity of zwift racing definitely has upped my fitness

I did bit over 1hr ride today. It was more like an experimental ride, I did different adjustment test with saddle height and fore/aft adjustment. Last adjustments felt pretty good but need to do more ride to confirm that feeling.

When @Peter Salt began zwifting, he was finishing dead last in C, yet 18 months later he’s ripping it up at the top of B!
