Not this time. Alpe is asking for a PB, so I'll be chasing my own ghost tomorrow.

Iā€™ve only been up the Alpe once this year (the Pace Partner ride with Andrew Alpinist) so maybe I could do that a few times before NYE, make some progress towards my 25x badge. My brother kindly gave me a Sterzo Smart for Christmas, so Iā€™ll be intrigued to give that an outingā€¦

Haven't been on Zwift in over a week as I've finally had a chance to catch up on my outdoor challenge rides while the weather is "not terrible", having not gotten out for almost a month due to Christmas parties, snow, ice and after-effects of colds. Did 67 miles on Christmas Eve and a further 31 on Boxing Day in my new cycling jersey (gift from the in-laws).

Will think about firing up the trainer at some point tomorrow no doubt. Anyone got any interesting events/races/group rides (nothing before 10am though)?

Was that before or after they introduced the ghosts? I find chasing/staying away from yourself really fun.

The ghosts replay everything - including power-ups - last time around I found myself swearing as my previous self fired up a feather

It was way back in June, so I wonā€™t even have a benchmark ride to chase, first time. I need to squeeze out a ride in the TT Series this week, too (Tick Tock this week), so Iā€™m going to be quite busy burning off mince pies.

I ended up entering something random around 6pm , unless you found something interesting?

If I can make it home on time Iā€™m going to go for this Race like a pro stage 4 event at 4:10. Are you chaps able to race any earlier?

Race like a poo - all done. Not sure of the wisdom of doing it on Boxing Day, but it's done now. Felt very hard. Held on for about 18 minutes again. Got spat out one group then another, then a gruppetto. Didn't feel like a great performance (compared with up the volcano the other day), but it'll be interesting to see what the rest of you can do.

I did RLAP #4 on Boxing Day as well. It is a (Bugg#r) interesting course with the 3 climbs. I lost the front pack about the same time as you @alex_cycles but latched onto the following group and we just about caught the leading pack by the end.

I set my best post-op 5 minute power at the start of the race and was pleased with my tactics and overall performance. I was 41st on the road and 32nd on ZP.

I rolled out of bed just before 5, so I could be finished by about 6:15 when my early-rising kids would get up, so that I can intercept them before they go and wake my wife up. Iā€™m sitting having breakfast on my own because theyā€™re all still dead to the world!

I couldnā€™t face a steady-paced effort up the Alpe so I did on/off segments, aiming not for a particular power on the hard segments (as hard as I could sustain, varying by segment length), but for a recovery segment power of about 240W.

Turned out a 50:48, which, because of the pacing, is going to be fun to chase down with the HoloReplay next time!

I think I'm right in congratulating Martin on his series victory. :okay: :notworthy:

Despite matching and being sometimes being faster over the climb segments, today's event was a Z2 effort by the lead pack. They took it far too easy, no one was willing to push the pace between the major climbs that included me .

HEY HO
