Once you've signed up via the race pass you can check on companion app in the events to see that you're signed up

Right decision - either you control it with a fence or dq everyone past a highlighted rider or else you just have a normal start.
Don't really see the point of neutralised start anyway

Yeah, go to schedule and click the slot you like.
The organiser was interviewed on "The Wrap" Zwift podcast and said basically it's because that's how Grand Tour stages start and the whole series is designed to be a Zwift version of a Grand Tour or stage race.
I admire what they're trying to do but unfortunately I think the rules and structure are all a bit too complicated. Many people just don't read rules properly - and there's a lot of rules with this one!
I think it's great that people are trying all these new race formats - unfortunately as always Zwift themeselves are behind the times in providing the tools for race organisers to be creative so they have to fudge things or rely on riders to self-police stuff like this neutral 1st kilometre.
I also got the impression that it worked fine in previous series they set up - it may be that they have many more participants now and that's why self policing is no longer working

31st 53:09 Went for ALL the primes. Think it went quite well. Stayed with the second group after the initial split up aqueduc.
Pave is a bastard so soon after aqueduc. Think there were at least two BONers in front of me, but hard to tell

Lots of flat. A few rollers at the start. One short sprinty climb (done twice) and three sprints (one is repeated).
I did the climb in 32s so it's about a third of Titan's
