Strange experience in the race I did earlier tonight. A guy in a red Jersey attacked multiple times on climbs and eventually a group of 5 including me got clear. He attacked again a few kms later and dropped another rider leaving a group of four of us which stayed away to the finish. The guy in red seemed like the strongest rider as he instigated all the attacks. I was in my blue ZRL kit, another rider in our breakaway was in exactly the same kit, and the other in a similar blue kit - and then there was red Jersey guy. He stood out a bit in red with the other 3 of us in blue and I for one was watching him closely because of all the earlier attacks.

Then, with a few kms to go, he suddenly changes his Jersey- to the same blue kit as me and one of the other riders! I've never seen anyone do that mid race before! Maybe it was a zwift glitch but if it was a purposeful move by the rider to confuse us or something then WTH?!

Anyway, he ended up coming 4th in the sprint to the line so no worries, but has anyone else seen the use of that type of tactic before?!

I think you can change everything apart from bike & wheels while carrying on. Maybe he was just trying to make friends by fitting in?

I did that once in a race when I first stated Zwift Racing. I was hoping, like red jersey guy, to go a bit more incognito as the race entered its final stages.

I think it is allowed but ZRL had rules against it - unsportsmanlike conduct or something. Then we all had to wear the same kits and not change them.

I only did it the once as I nearly ended my ride by accident as I was on Apple TV

Was it horrible? I've noticed a lot of people disappearing from results recently through not wearing HRM or not being on ZP. E.g. today at least 7 in my cat but only 2 in the final results.

Well I was doing a recce of volcano climb so wasn't really trying to hold front uphill (it was mass start finish so A's pulling) but lots of C riders dropping bs and the odd a. Still fun though, but strikingly different

It's going to be muddy, with rain falling heavy for last 2 days.

Good luck Andy.

Hope you have better weather than we're having in South West, it's horrendous.

Stay safe
