Circadian rhythms.

You'll feel better soon:okay:

Our CCC event was very interesting. I had low personal expectations being so heavy legged from the gym and had a very late tea just before the event. First two sprints I was very sluggish, couldn't get the legs to spin. 3rd sprint I came alive and sailed through a thousand Watts. I then was able to muster a fair sprint for the others. I then had something left for Libby hill with near personal best.

Legs are still sore today :training:

Only one week to ZRL:eek:

Your sprint and recovery last night was very impressive ... you attacked every sprint.

I was dead after the 2nd sprint. Realised afterwards I was very dehydrated which probably was a factor. I drank a litre of water during the ride which is unlike me, and still couldn't quench the thirst, really dry mouth and stinking headache. I thought i'd drank enough during the day, but clearly not ... need to make sure I hydrate better for next week else I won't make it up the blinkin KoM :surrender:

I’m pretty out of shape to be honest. Not feeling very strong and the cardio isn’t really there either. Last night wasn’t really a good marker though as I had a pretty long day at work so I was just tired generally. I’m feeling fairly philosophical though. I’ve not been training much so I can’t grumble. Hopefully that changes as the season goes on. And at least it means it’s unlikely I get promoted next week in the first race.

@nridgy is flying though! Or at least raring yo take off! I didn’t realise how well you’d done Paul until I just read your report. Seems like you’ve mastered Libby hill mate.

Thanks mate - yes Libby Hill is now definitely my favourite! Suits my strengths somehow - and yeah I think I've sussed the best way to attack it too. I did feel the after effects pretty badly on those next two climbs which come very quickly afterwards though!
