That's one way to get the KoM. And I thought people cheated on Zwift

Later this month, after half term and when weather is better, I'll drive over there and park up. Go up there on fresh legs and no water bottles and see what I can do. Just need to work out where the start/end to the Strava segment is. :okay:

Sounds good, I could do the same, midweek would work for me.
Perhaps we could arrange a CC meet up...?

I just wanted to say a welcome to the team #23 roster to King Joffey 👍👍

You obviously spend as much money as me on weird looking cycling shades, so you were always going to get my vote!

I think the line between the teams is more blurred than ever and that can only be a good thing. Ketty and Michael are obviously right up there too in my opinion, as are a few others. So hopefully if people can’t make races in either team at some point in the season. We can cover each other where possible.

Just found the GPX of the climb ... this will make life a bit easier ... no wasted efforts :okay:
Edit: my bolt doesn't seem to like this :banghead:

Just pinched the gpx file - will see what happens if I put it in RGT
Says I have done the ride but either on Lejog or bkool - can’t remember doing it

I'm working that day... 🙄
How about May 4th, 10th,11th or 12th...???
They all work for me .. depending when/if my house move is (I still have no idea of a date!). Shall we pencil in Star Wars day and we can always tweak it if something comes up?

Anyone else fancy a little CC jaunt on May 4th?

Sounds like an awful lot of dodgy "it was at the end of a long ride" type excuses being thrown down about these Cheddar Gorge times @<Tommy> :cuppa:

If anyone wants to come and challenge my relatively mediocre time of 9.55, bring it on - looks like I'm the only one who's been trying ^_^

It's not actually too hard a climb really in theory - but I seem incapable of riding up it in a leisurely way so I always associate it with pain!

You're on quite a few Strava segments round here that you did in the very early bkool days I think- before Strava had a "virtual rides" option I assume

In 2019 I rode the London to Brighton charity ride, a few weeks later the organisers contacted me & several other riders to enquire if we'd like to take part in a promotional film for a sportif based here in the West Country.

The filming took place over two days at various locations, all expenses were paid for and each rider was given free Mavic kit inc a helmet !

We were transported via minibus to the locations with our bikes travelling in a van, all meals & drinks etc were paid for as well with lots of snacks :okay:

We started in Ashton Court before travelling to Clevedon, Cheddar Gorge, Chew Valley Lake, Ebhor Gorge and the Levels.

We spent lots of time at Cheddar Gorge dodging the rain showers and waiting for the sun to shine.

It was a great experience but sadly due to the circumstances last year the event never took place.

Wow that sounds amazing! All my local haunts as well!

You didn't tell us you were (almost) famous!

GCN are based in Bath which isn't too far from here and they use Cheddar Gorge and some of the local hills round here for filming quite regularly. I've seen them out filming a couple of times and often recognise the local roads they use in videos
