Speaking of HRMs i think I've just jinxed my fenix 5 as it cut out the heart rate mid race for first time ever.

No freezing, or ant drop outs though and lag seems a lot better.

Didn't ride well either as still feel crap but glad I persevered and with any luck now that I've done a lap of ghosts in the machine it should all be fine for a while....I assume.

On the mend yet @<Tommy> ?

Im not really sure to be honest Michael but thanks for asking mate. I’m still limping when I walk some of the time. And my legs often feels tight and sore around my upper calve, and the muscle that runs along the side of my shin feels a bit achey and bruised. But it actually feels best on my commute to and from work so 🤷‍♂️. I’m going to spin on zwift tomorrow I think just to see what reaction I get. Not sure how prudent that is but I feel like it’s the only way I can get an answer.

In more exciting news (to me at least! :blush:). The first part of the latest jigsaw puzzle arrived today.

I know it might look like a bog standard crank arm so apologies for that. But it’s a bit of a ‘holy grail’ item for track bike enthusiasts. And it’s officially the first part of my new project 🍻

Great write up Martin - I enjoyed reliving that a bit more than actually doing it! And great predictions too!

Everyone did great last night - a few places we could have been a bit slicker and a few seconds lost at the start (yet another lesson learnt!) but on the whole it was great. And everyone certainly gave it everything. That has to be one of your highest average power figures for a race of that length right? You were so determined last night - as well ast the start you got slightly distanced a couple of other times I noticed and I thought it might be over for you but each time you fought back and were soon back up the front taking another hard turn :thumbsup:

I'm really enjoying these TTTs with Team #23. It helps that we're all pretty similar riders in terms of our average wkg so it's a genuine team effort with shared workload - plus the added incentive of having a lead to protect in the league makes it more fun too!

Haven't seen any updates on how it went for Team #68 - how did it go for you guys?

Thanks mate - it did feel good to believe I had contributed to the team - having not scored any points in the scratch races. You are right that it was the highest w/kg I've ever done for that time period (and outright watts, just) and my previous best was outside in a British Masters race.

There is something about the team dynamic that helps you dig that tiny percent more :bicycle:

We had a nightmare.

We were worried that we might not have 6 riders but @bobinski stepped in for @mjd1988 as he was struggling to leave the toilet :biggrin:

@JLaw had a nightmare with a tablet update and missed the event start but with 5 in the pen we thought we might be ok. As the flag went down @Ketty's Zwift froze leaving 4 riders.

As the team seems to be mainly Cat C at the moment we were soon getting caught by other teams but as always team spirit was high and we made the best of it and had a laugh on the way round, including some baiting of Zestria.

With 3 miles to go I disappeared off the screen with a connection issue and rode to the line on my own. At the end we scrambled around and saw that ZP has logged me finishing in so thankfully our time will count.

I think we overtook a German team at the end but I'm not sure.

Yorkshire next week, I'm not looking forward to it. I think there are only 2 events left now. It's been a lot of fun, but I'm glad it's coming to the end - it's wearing thin getting beat on every week in the next Cat up :laugh: I need some Cat C races!

Despite the technical issues at the start, looking back at the video as a 4-UP we did pretty well, holding are line well at times, whilst trying not to be dragged apart when other teams went by.
I too have enjoyed the series although at times I've found it hard going being a Cat C in a B team but it's a great way to improve, I do enjoy the TTT's and it nice we have a bit of banter as we go round.

What started out as a disaster turned into a very enjoyable ride! We always have a good laugh as we ride, that's one of my favourite parts of ZRL.

I might be able to join racing again next year, so if there is a C team hopefully you'll let me join :hugs: I've really missed riding with you guys :okay:

I reckon we have 15 riders racing the current series, so to get to 18 for three teams next season could be possible?

Assuming all the current riders would continue next season it could look something like this:

#23 - no change

#68
@mjd1988
@bobinski
@BurningLegs
@Ketty
@Del C - this league is one down from your current Derek. Would you fancy coming over?
+1...

#77
@Joffey
@Spartak
@Whorty
@JLaw
@steverob
+1...

So there are at least two slots, possibly three. Perhaps more if Derek has other plans for Jan.

Not sure what Brendans plans are for next season? Or his exact username to tag.... edit: @Brendan Parker - couldn't have been easier really could it :laugh:

It might work out, but would probably end up with #68 and #77 racing as a five some weeks when people have other commitments or knee problems.

Registration for new teams is open now...

I wonder if we could convince @Aleman and @Marino.g to get involved too? What do you think chaps? That would put us as a squad of 7 and we really only need 4/5 per week minimum (but obviously 6 would be nice).

I would be happy to do the admin and squad chasing / selection duties for the C team - @steverob could be DS...

And for @Spartak we could have a poll for our team name :hyper:

I might be able to drag a mate in as well when we are short, I think he's racing in Cat C atm. Oh, and @Whorty!!!!! :hello:

Thought's C riders?
