That's some really good progression TB, 246w for 24 mins - you must be well chuffed at that :wahhey:

I was toast at the top of Hardknott too ... glad I didn't have to hold on for 24 mins, I'd have blown up completely :B)
Yeah most of the session was spent in the 250-270 range. Couldn't ride slow enough to keep the power down to sensible levels without the legs locking up. Pedalling squares

I think BRVR may have reset my FTP

A bit like my ride - just turn keep the pedals turning on those 20% sections I was having to ride at 270+ watts. The lower % section in the middle was a very welcome rest

The last time I had power numbers like that was on a Bkool classic up Sugarloaf and Magnolia 3 years ago :sweat::sweat::sweat::sweat:
I notice they have slightly different output than Strava or Bkool. I was trying for 200 watts. My all time high this year.Working my way way back to the 275 FTP from a year ago.

My FTP on Bkool is now 330 . That tells a lot what kind of trainer Bkool Pro1 was. It's my wet dream to try to catch that FTP with my current Elite Drivo 2 trainer, but i'm afraid i won't ever get there. Before the summer comes that FTP looks totally different (lower) but hopefully higher than 230.

Yes. Definitely the old Bkool algorithm was off. On my NEO I gained watts on level and downhill, but lost them on climbs. The real big change is its ability to simulate steep climbs. I have to stand on the pedals in the lowest gear. In real life I would get off and walk. I'm looking for a ride up the hill from past a place called Sudeley Castle outside Winchcombe to compare. I had to walk up several sections..

Now that i have done few rides on Bkool i have an odd feeling that i need to ride lower gear than on Zwift, resistance feels different/harder, maybe more realistic. I try to maintain higher cadence which is one thing what i try to improve, but with climbs that goal comes bit challenging.

Same here, I find Zwift to be generous with speed and gears needed compared to BRVR and Bkool. Could be in my mind but this is how it feels. Certainly the speeds on BRVR and Bkool feel more like my outside rides whilst Zwift is a km or 2 faster.

Also draft effect missing on Bkool or at least i dont feel it like it is on Zwift and i think that is only a good thing. I manually change my ftp on bkool as well, better face the facts while training, difficult to see improvments otherwise.

How accurate is the ramp test at estimating FTP on zwift?

I got a figure, but I don't think I'd manage to maintain that figure for an hour.
It’s not accurate as ftp but is enough accurate if your plan is start to do workouts. I have done ramp test and it feels that my workouts are right level or at least very close. Not bad idea to repeat that ramp test occasionally to see if any progress happened.

I though the default setting for trainer difficulty in Zwift is only 50%, rather than the 100% in BRVR and BKool. After spending a winter training on zwift with it set to 20% I had absolutely nothing for real world rides the following summer ... lesson learned ALWAYS train with it set to 100%
