Sorry to hear about all the technical issues- really frustrating. But well done to the four in team #68 who managed to complete the race.

Awesome effort from all the guys in team#68 too - frustrating loss of @IrishAl just before the start - would have been even better with you, but thanks for the encouragement on discord Alan.

Was it all apple TV related?

My issue seemed to be a case of clumsy fingers on the ATV remote - in The start pen and observing the countdown, then I lifted the remote to go to the pairing screen and I pressed the voice button and then the menu button in quick succession - the screen froze and then the ATV rebooted . I’ve never had that happen before so gutted to have missed out on helping the boys but they absolutely smashed it and I got a rest day....so no excuses for me next week - Bagels anyone?

I was just thinking. The way the points work in this thing it seems like if you have bad luck you’d rather have it in the ttt rather than the other style of race because there’s lots more points up for grabs in the other races. Not that it doesn’t bloody hurt like hell when you get disconnected like that. But maybe take a little solace in the fact that it’s better to do it now than next week.

edit: I’ve just been corrected by the team management... Turns out I don’t have much of an idea how the point system works.. .

Ever tried using the iPhone or iPad as a remote? I’ve kind of got the hang of the remote (agreed it’s cr@p). But maybe using the phone as a remote is less pernickety.

I’d still prefer appletv over pc. I just like the instant loading and I’ve found it more reliable than the pc.

There’s a simplicity about the ATV I love. But I can’t use the phone as a remote at the same time as using it for CA, Discord, BT to headphones , Wahoo fan and sometimes music -I am quite old you know 😁

I'm a big fan of Apple TV. Haven't looked back since converting. I have smashed the glass on the bottom half of the remote by dropping it on the concrete floor of the garage 🤦‍♂️

There have been lots of rumours about a new Apple TV. One rumour is a version with much more grunt slecifically to run games. Fingers crossed for that! If that happens I will buy one and move the current 4K into our lounge 🙂

But the remote is horrible to use. Especially if your fingers are a bit sweaty

Could definitely be tempted by that. I still don't know exactly how my laptop is managing to run zwift, it's almost completely packed it in otherwise (I have a work laptop but haven't plucked up the courage to email IT to ask them to install zwift)

I'm another advocate of ATV. Although at the weekend mine lost wifi connection (like @Joffey last night). I'm now connecting it by a ethernet cable to my router for the ZRL races so I don't have that issue!

I use a homeplug/powerline adaptor to hardwire the broadband to my ATV - worth considering if you don't have a cable long enough to reach your router
