That beetroot juice is clearly doing its job then
It tastes horrible so I was hoping NOT to come to that conclusion!

Yes definitely best to be aware of the ...side-effects before you start taking it or you might get a scare. Some evidence that it can be of benefit though and super healthy. I used to take some, would be tempted to try some more now that I have a consistent log of power output to compare

I remember reading up on it. It all makes sense on paper. Why not give it a go you think! And then you try it... you’d already been warned it wasn’t pleasant... but no one said it was like eating dirt! xx(

I have been using for about 3 weeks. I actually like beetroot anyway. The shots are expensive though. In the spirit of trying all sorts of wierd and wonderful things i am mixing collagen coffee with my daily bean to cup! And I THINK it works.

Tastes fine too. In fact no perceptible affect on a dammed fine cup of coffee👍😀
Genuine question - Is this just a method to get more protein into your body? What's the advantage of this over eating more protein or taking a protein shake? Is it simply that it can go in a cup of coffee and taste good?

Yeah, especially as an older guy and hardly eating any meat. Collagen is supposed to assist with muscle repair and soreness so an additional benefit over a protein shake. Though you can certainly add this to a shake if you want.

I’ve tried the homemade blended Beetroot about 30 mins before a 5 mile time trial. Nearly pushed the lot up 🤢

I did learn however that beetroot mixed with apple juice is actually quite nice as the apple sweetens It up and covers over the worst of the earthy taste 👍

I eat loads of beetroot generally cos I really like it, but not tried blending it. Must give that a bash.

Most beetroot drinks have apple juice added to make them more palatable. I find them too sweet.
