Cheers Alan.

I reckon it's Tron for me, especially as the aeroad is now worse than it was.

Could probably tailor choice to your aims for the race - there are two intermediates on the flat so some might be going venge and super 9s while others may be setting up lightweight for the climbs, although they are so short and punchy it's aero for me.

I'll probably wait and see what division we are in before I decide if I'm targeting sprints or trying to stick it out. Realistically I'll go for the first two sprints if I'm in the mix and then continue all out for the first lap and see where I end up. If I'm way behind the front group then I'll take it easy.

I’m genuinely interested in listening to other people’s opinions on this one. I don’t have much experience with intermediate sprints.

I think I’m more suited to the gc rather than the sprints competition. I think that’s probably a fair assessment of all of #23 to be fair. But I need to know where the sprints are so I don’t follow the sprinters lead when they attack the intermediates. Is it a case of having the confidence to let them go on the premis that they take their foot off the gas completely after the banner?

@mjd1988 have they weakened the aeroad? Tron for me too.

From my experience, and I get it could be unique to me (!) but I've been dropped twice racing on the Richmond course at the 2nd sprint segment. The 2nd sprint point has a fast descent just after it so if wheels get lost and there are gaps then it is easy for the group to pull away from you. So, personally, even if I wasn't looking for sprint points I would still be looking to sprint at the banners to stay in the front 3rd of the bunch, if only not to get dropped.

1st sprint banner not so bad as the follow through is flat and the blob tends to get back on quite easily. Just that damn 2nd sprint and the descent that follows :banghead:

Tron for me as well this week.

I have a big fear of the climbs this week. Libby Hill is 50% longer than the legsnapper as a reference. 23rd av is shorter but steeper at 10%. For me It will be a case of dig deep and try and get over with a big enough group to catch the leaders on the flats. If a few of us get distanced then we will e best to try and group up and work together. Anyone with the front group should stay and fight it out for the stage finish points.

The danger with the intermediate sprints is that the whole bunch picks up the pace and you get stuck behind in the stickydraft. I’ve gone for a lot of the sprints in my day and yeah for sure those at the pointy end will be blowing out their arse and have to ease off but the pace generally will have picked up S it can be dangerous if your not paying attention. Plus therell be 100 other riders thinking they can get points as well. At least it’s safer than in real life.

I’m going aero in an effort to try and make it to the short climbs as far up the field as possible - my raw power is low so flats are challenging even in a group.

Hopefully the climbs will be an opportunity to move up the field despite the weight penalty. I’ve gone with this tactic before and been dropped on a climb though, so might end up on the tron!

Never been keen on tron
I would be tempted with Specialized frame and maybe enve wheels

I tend to ride Spesh Venge S-Works with Zipp 454 wheels as they're aero and lightish ..... probably all in the mind but I prefer that combo to the Tron :okay:

Not sure how Series Points are awarded but it would appear that Team 68 are 3/4 of the way down the league on SP having scored very few Rider Points. It's all very complicated.

I wonder if WTRL will simplify it next season.

So one team is in the W1 league, the other is in W2 league. And both in different divisions? I guess that means if either team get promoted or demoted a division we still can’t race against each other?

I think if that is the case then it’s a good thing. It’s better to all be part of one big squad rather than to battle against eachother.
