just incase might want to add a bit on, allow for the run-in?
don't want the meet banner before the finish line, don't suppose it matters how much past it as we'll all stop anyway
OK, we need to clarify are we racing to the end of the strava segment or the end of the meetup? (i.e the blue meetup banner). I thought it was the end of the meetup, and only using the strava segment in case of a tie or something? @Del C ?

I think the 'race' (i.e. who wins tonight, first past the post) should be the meetup blue banner as that is what we see on the count down ..... it's always easier to race when we know how far to go :okay:

For handicap timings for next week we may have to use the segment as a helper.

I agree it's best to use the meetup banner as the finish line. Most of the time the meetup end banner is after the segment finishes, although we have had it once or twice when this wasn't the case. I can either add on a few more hundred metres just to make sure it is, but this could mean quite a bit of extra racing after the segment ends (particularly if the meetup banner is already a few hundred metres after the end of the segment). Or, we can leave it as it is, the race is still to the meetup banner, but if we notice that we haven't gone over the finish line for the segment when we go through the meetup banner, just keep going for a short time more until you do, so that you get a time for the segment?

I think they're going to be close together.

I did say the finish arch earlier which is the end of the segment, but maybe it is simpler if we just race to the end of the Meet Up? We're using the segment for back up as its the only option.

EDIT: Just read back the comments above and let's go with what @bridgy says. Race to the Meet Up end banner and if you see you haven't gone under the arch keep going. If the Meet Up banner is after the arch then no problem.
