I won't be able to make the dbr race the next two weeks. Too bad, I liked having teammates.

Did the zhq race today. Not much to report. Identified two riders to mark before the race and we were in the lead pack together for much of the race. One got spit out the back, but the other got up the road with coned riders, and I let him go. He coned too, but wasn't DQd. There was another legit rider with him, so even though I won my sprint group, I finished 3rd overall.

Feels like the legs should handle 45 minute races. So I'll probably skip those 25 minute crit city races from here out and do the slightly longer 3r races or zhq betas.

I knew that I was going into yesterday's race in a fatigued state. I had a big week last week, riding over 230 miles and i already felt jaded for the Saturday Crit City race. However, I felt okay and sometimes you can surprise yourself with how you perform.

It was a good turnout with 7 CCers in B (I'd forgotten about Torben) out of the 55 starters. As usual a fairly quick start and then into the rollers. At one point I made a dash for the Prime points and got a good lead, but I had mis-timed the effort and was overtaken by the group yards from the line. I am not great with repeated VO2 efforts and after a while (I'll need to watch the video to see where) I lost the front group. @Alongo was still in it and @BurningLegs was in my group which was 5 or 6 strong.

If I'd been doing the race solo, I probably would have bailed at this point but being a Team event I thought I'd crack on to get team points. We overtook a few stragglers which was gratifying and had quite a good dynamic. In the sprint for the line, I put down more Watts that I have managed of late but still came 4th of 6 and 21st on ZP (22nd including Primes). Good to see Andy finish in the lead group and Nick finish strongly in our group. Kudos to Del, Adam, Steen and Torben for their efforts too.

We are 3rd in the Team League with 2 events to go and are not likely to catch 1st and 2nd but need to defend that bronze.

Video is here - I've not watched it yet so apologies in advance

I’m not sure how many of you are racing tonight. Maybe racing two nights running is overkill. But this is the series zsunr are racing starting tomorrow. Tuesday used to be the regular race day on cc. So maybe one to keep an eye on going forward. 3R seem really well organised and always have stuff on the go. Going on the series just finished and this one, it looks like they try to do multiple runs on race day which I think is quite a selling point.

Im planning to ride the 3R race this evening. I had the The ZHR masters race series in mind but it is on Richmond UCI worlds course his evening. Libby hill is too long and steep for me and I’ll be solo after the first ascent so giving it a miss. Will you be on the start line Tommy? Anyone else?

Well done last night chaps. A super CC turnout and some great results :bravo:

I did a short 20 min race and felt pretty good until the last 500m whereupon my legs turned to jelly. But hopefully I won't embarrass myself too much for Friday's TTT.

The Cyclechat ;league within a league' table has been updated below. @BurningLegs continued strong consistency keeps him at the top but a strong ride from @Alongo keeps him in his sights. Lots of close battles going on from top to bottom :boxing:. Please let me know if I've missed anyone....

We've got good teams across all cats. I think in a fresh leugue if the B's turned out regular and we got more organized we could win.

Shouldn't anyone who takes part and finishes the race at least get one point? Otherwise (especially for the D's) you might as well sit at home if you know there are more than 13 other CC riders taking part?

Yes everyone gets (at least) 1 point for finishing, but not all riders' points go into the Team Standings for each cat. I THINK it is only 6 riders' points, but honestly can't remember. But as there is less than 60 riders in each cat, we all get more than 1 point for finishing. I.e. I got 26 points for finishing 35th yesterday.

I think Steve means the CChat league - I've got 0 points for yesterday on that table. And I came 3rd in my Cat and won 2 primes!

Hi Al. Yes mate that’s the plan. I think Bridgy, Berty and Bob should be in the race too. If you’re looking for a tonic for hilly courses then this series could be it.

I think this is just a provisional list but as you can see there’s not many hills in sight. The last series was a bit more varied to be fair. Anyhoot... see you there hopefully👍

Ah OK, must admit I don't really ride to get points in the CC league. I see the DBR races as a team effort, and if I can't stay at the front, I might as well try and keep the competing teams from getting points. I think that worked out OK again yesterday, with only 5 DBR riders in front of me
