Wow! Good work!!

That rack looks like it could take 2 weeks of holiday luggage!

What gearing have you got there?

The chainring is 32t the rear cog is 23t and the 11 ratios in the Alfine. I used Sheldon Brown gear calc. I didn't want a huge top speed just enough to ride at 20mph when conditions permit. I wanted a good low climbing gear for me and my luggage.

Ive not done any speed tests, other than a quick ride. It feels I could go down to 30 or 28t, it has a really low climbing gear though.

20 gear inches is the lowest gear currently

A few of the guys have started riding with ZSUNR - @<Tommy> @berty bassett and @bridgy

They rode in the WTRL Team Time Trial yesterday with @bobinski .

First time I'd heard of that. Maybe we should see if we can enter a CC team?
It was good fun and very well organised , I am sure you would enjoy it . Team of 8 and it’s the first four across the line so the stronger ones have to help the weaker , somehow I think you can enter a team of all abilities ( not all A though ) I had nothing to do with the organisation of it as it sounded too complicated for me but someone here would be able to get head around it . Very tactical for those who like tactics - I just concentrated on clinging on !

I agree with Lee it was good fun - but getting a team organised to enter it is really quite complex. If you're up for it let me know though and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction as best I can.

By the way, Lee and Tommy absolutely smashed it and both did 4 w/kg for 50 minutes and finished in the final group of 4 from our 8 man team (time is taken from 4th across the line for a team of 8). Things didn't go quite so well for me as I managed to drop my chain about halfway in so I had to stop, fix that and then keep going hard just in case one of the others had a problem but all on my own! But then looking at the power the 4 up front were doing there was a part of me that was glad I still wasn't with them!

Sorry I should have said I’m a bit of a veteran in the TTT event having done it most winter with BRT and now with the Team ireland Community I’ve helped get up and running - we had 18 teams out yesterday and two all ladies teams in the premier league.
I love the event as it’s always a great workout no matter whether your one of the stronger or weaker riders. It is a bit of a faff getting everyone in the right pen, right name in ZWIFTPOWER etc. I’ll be keeping an eye out for you in the results.
Yesterday's course was one of the hardest I’ve raced and I couldn’t hold the wheels to the end but the team had a good result.

It’s great for team building so @<Tommy> @mjd1988 ,@Marino.g ,@Whorty I think you should get it together next week 😀

I love the fact there is a variety, so hope that is kept. It is nice that you can filter the events to show races, socials, or both at once to cater for all preferences.

My personal favourite format is a social ride with an "after party" race. A nice 2.5w/kg jaunt followed by a quick blast up a climb is the sweet spot for me
These days if you like join to group rides there's no limit about a pace if fence is not active, just pick the group what suite you. I didn't have much legs left, thank for the morning shift when i join Twenty20 Road to Tokyo Ride last Thursday. Avg pace suppose to be on that ride 1,8-2,2w/kg but because there wasn't fence my avg pace was nearly 2,5w/kg and that isn't anything special for mentioned. For me that was enough to exceed 200w avg. Just good example of group rides nature these days.

So, anyone fancy putting together a team for the WTRL Team Time Trial Event?

Races are on Thursday at 18.00.18.30, 19.00 and 19.40

Between 3 and 8 members in a team. I've screen shot the rules on team composition from the WTRL website at https://wtrl.racing :

C20C47D8-9A83-44A4-BD5A-6F38C4DA26E3.jpeg

The website explains the wider rules, how the event starts and how we may have to modify our team name tag to take part.

We've probably got enough B, C and D riders to make up a team, as well as @peterob in A now. Anyone interested?

Maybe it will just be a one-off, but if it goes well it could become a more regular or an occasional thing?

I'd be interested but would find it hard to commit; do you have to have certain numbers well in advance?

Don't really know yet.

Only skim read the website last night, so I don't know if it has to be committed names or a squad. All I saw last night was between 3 and 8 riders. If it was a squad, then as long as we had 3 riders on the night I'm guessing we'd be ok.

They do allocate you to a start pen based on the make up of your team (based on the Cats of the riders) although they do say they'll adjust your finishing place if you start in the wrong pen.

Need to read up on it a bit more. Also to understand how the team name thing works.

Any advice @bridgy @<Tommy> @berty bassett @bobinski ?

I just thought it looked good. Always enjoy watching the team time trials on the pro tour and thought it could be fun to have a go at a virtual one
