Best of luck mate. Sounds bloody horrible to be honest šŸ˜„

Maybe we should be talking about arranging cc organised long rides (refuse to mention the Z word!).
A 'club' ride, whilst we're all mostly stuck at home, might be nice. Pacing might be difficult as the faster guys would be going too slow, and the slow guys might struggle to keep up so maybe need 2 groups? Unless the faster chaps are happy riding at the pace of the slowest rider which I'm guessing would be an average of about 2.8/3 w/g over a couple of hours :okay:

PRL full- Its a bit of a boring route 11 times up Boxhill. Why didn't they do something to encompass all climbs or

varied flat courses

That said I've done a 100 miler around the Volcano flat. That was crucifying, nearly 4hours hanging onto an ever decreasing pack

I dont mind spinning. Or we could split into more than one group but maybe talk over headsets.

anything over 60 miles and I think Iā€™d struggle to maintain interest. Iā€™ve been trying to do the longish Sunday morning rides if anyone fancies that.

Well I canā€™t remember doing that ! Amazing what your mind can block out
How about those of us who have a GoPro do a 20 miler video it and put it on to ride virtually somehow - I have one knocking about somewhere
Must be some way of doing it so we can ride each otherā€™s course ?

Ive been organising my clubs Virtual club run for the last 2 weekends.

It's pretty easy. If you check the Keep Together function when you organise a Meet Up you do just that, Keep Together. It seems to work regardless what you do. In a test run, I hit 7w/kg on a sprint with my mate sitting behind me doing 1.9w/kg!

There was over 20 of us this morning doing the 25.4 mile Triple Loops course in London. You get a bit stretched out, but there was never more than about 3-4 seconds between us and we were generally together as a group.

We all wore the same kit so we could see each other and we had a Discord channel running to make it more social. There was some good banter during the ride.

It took just under 90 minutes to complete.

The last 2 weeks it's also been a good workout for everyone. It's nothing like a race, but you can work as hard as you want. I've just advised everyone to ride it at a comfortable pace and it works!

It would be quite easy to set up a Cyclechat club run if enough people are interested and we can agree a course and how long we want to ride

I've been watching Cameron Jeffers -you know the young man who won the UK Zwift virtual race series, then he was cruelly disqualified:ohmy:

He averages around 330W for an hour on Zwift races @4.4W/kg. He is right up there in A cats.

A pro would shred those number capable of 400W plus and weigh less than he does

Good point - I forgot about the 'keep together' option. If we can get one of the faster guys to set up the meet, they can push 4 w/kg and drag me along for some PBs even though I'm only doing 1 w/kg

Chris (@Freelanderuk ) is doing well - just checked in with him and after 5 hours he's 138 km in, so looking to complete the 100 miles in about 6 hours. :notworthy: :wahhey:
That is excellent effort, especially indoors. I just finished World Social Riders group ride, route was Watopia Figure 8. I did little bit personal history, i rode two times top of a sprint list in that event.

edit. just checked, Chris can't clearly stop, 109miles rode and still keep going .

Well I completed it ,thanks Carl for the words of encouragement and Berty who rode we me up Box and gave me a spurt on , I had plans to stop at lap 4 and 8 for 15 mins but that did not work out , stopped lap 4 for the loo and to check on Christine but she had got up and was using the bathroom so back on the bike, got off end of lap 5 and checked on Christine and managed to get my toilet break, changed my bib shorts but had run out of but creamā˜¹ļø.

Felt good when back on the bike so just rode to the end 6hrs 12 minutes and 27 seconds to do the 108 miles so well chuffed
