I think I'm starting to suffer from overtraining (ironic for one as unfit as I)
Took an unscheduled rest day yesterday, did the TdZ cat D race today and felt terrible, think I'm going to have another couple of rest days to see if that helps.

This weekend I'm planning on doing long slow distance IRL to see if my time in the pain cave has paid any dividends.
Been there done that. For me overtraining seems to happen easily when i do indoor training in a winter. When overtraining happens it's easily comes again, very hard to recognize until it's there and very difficult to get rid off. All you can do is take it easy, like going to walk for change or just do something different.

I'm on day 6 on the trot now and legs definitely getting tired. Aiming for 14 for the 'Unemployed' badge  I need to do a gentle spin tomorrow

I start my work early tomorrow morning so that is my only training session tomorrow. I have a recovery day tomorrow, only what i can do is try how flexible i am and try my legs behind my neck ^_^

My Strava is full of over trainers. Either excessive junk miles or too many hard interval sessions/races a week. A few C.C'rs are a bit keen on their weekly volumes. Quality over quantity, if I feel only half bothered then I'm not ready & rest.
I just watch Chris Pritchard's livestream from youtube and i comment that racing on Zwift is same as doing ftp-test every time when you race.

1:12:38 and 23rd on the stage in ZP.
Boyasadear that was tough. Heart rate hit 172 at one point which is 98% max.
I did the bike swap thing...Specialised Tarmac Pro / Meilenstein wheels followed by Scott MTB in the jungle and switches back onto the Tron for the final. Both bike changes went very smoothly but it is hard to say what benefit I really got in the end as the race was so fragmented and I was cooked. I don’t think I gained any places overall in the end nor did I lose any. But it added a bit of spice nonetheless.

soooo.... Anyone racing tomorrow? Or should I assume that for the rest of the month you’re all just strictly riding zone 2, while having whey protein and multi vitamins simultaneously fed through an intravenous drip! 😄

Seriously though. If anyone finds a race they fancy let me know and I’ll try joining 👍

Also during the last race I kept on getting asked if I was ready to join the 7 o’clock race. I guess I entered both but don’t remember. Then the battery on my Apple TV remote died. And I’m being given a countdown timer until I automatically (?) join the 7 o'clock race pen. Lucky the apple remote works as soon as you plug it in so I avoided being transported with a few seconds to spare. Is this normal that it still asks you if you’re joining the later race even when you’re in a race?

Also No one answered this. To summarise the waffle... Do I have to un join all the races I’ve joined that overlap the race I’m actually doing or risk being transported?

Yeah same has happened to me before so short answer I think is yes! Zwift I think will give you the option to join the next event you've signed up for even if it overlaps with an earlier event (an "option" that eventually turns into an automatic join of course if you don't say no!)

Reading about commuters who cycle all year round. They generally comment about it taking years to be accustomed physically to the demands

Listen to your body, rest when you feel like it
That's how it was for me. I reckon it took me 18 months to get used to cycling my short commute each day (5 miles each way). Recently though I've been using it as a Z1 'recovery' ride and doing my intensity stuff on the turbo. I've got a couple of weeks left on my current SF plan and then I'll look to shifting a bit more 'real' riding outdoors.

I'll be interested if the plan has made any noticeable improvement. On a few occasions I have had to back off from it as I felt as if I was overdoing it. As Graeme Obree said, if you're unsure if you're properly recovered, then you're not.

Hence I've not been doing the TdZ (although I'm planning on fitting in stage 4 as that's more my sort of stage ). But I'll be back in the league after my plan finishes as I do miss all the 'fun'.
