Nice group you were in. Me and that German Andreas had to work hard to keep you guys behind us for the last 3-4km. But 10-20 meters before the finish, you lot caught us (well at least 4 of them did ). Bugger! Then again, 2 against 17 is not fair.
If you showed up in my riders list showing 2 seconds ahead I would have sprinted ^_^ to the line

I don't keep the normal zwift rider list open on the app .... i keep the 'riders i'm following' list open. I like to know when you guys are sneaking up on me

Honestly!?

I saw you briefly on the climb, then you rode away from me. Dean passed me about half up KOM. I held on to his wheel until we entered the tunnel, where he dropped me.

I caught him again in the Jungle and we lets say 'Rode together' Actually I was hanging in there like grim death:laugh:. I stayed with him right to the point where the road tips down from the jungle. I took a swig of water and the group put the hammer down, twang went the elastic, 40 seconds lost to his pack

I wasn't going to let that happen again, so a group formed with me and we rode into the finish. There must of been 12 of us. I had a drafting boost to use. Everyone went with 250 to go. I hit boost, dropped onto small cog and went for it. Nothing happened for what seemed an age, then all of a sudden my avatar started cutting through my pack. I took my group sprint :hyper: with a modest 800W sprint.

Lots of positives within the event, I felt ok even though near max threshold, I recovered reasonably well during the descents and I could dig in for periods. I enjoyed my little battle with Dean, who must of thought WTF. He shouldn't of said he would drop me like a stone :boxing:

1.21.02 for me
I enjoyed that paced myself well seen Andy on the Epic Kom but just kept it nice and steady for the whole ride eventually dropped Andy  but made me work a little bit harder well done Andy 👍

Didn’t get on this evening as I’m heading away overnight for work and didn’t think it would be fair on the. Issue for me to clear off and leave her to walk the dog, make dinner, etc etc while I did a Zwift sesssion. I’ll take today as a rest day...I got the pointless 14 day in a row badge yesterday...I’ll be raring to go tomorrow evening. :boxing:

For the second night in a row I was on the turbo warming up when our internet failed. :cursing:
Spent the next hour still in my bibs and jersey on chat to Vodafone and now have a £5 credit and fault reference number for my time.
Apparently the “Tech 2” team are going to look at a fault that was confirmed remotely within 72 hours.
It might have to be catch-up for my stage three

Well that wasn't nice. With 8 miles to go I was on the verge of giving up. My legs were screaming, I had no energy, my podcast had finished, my tea was going cold and my gooch has worn away to the bone.

:bicycle: 02:11:29 - @bridgy

These rides are getting a bit long on time for my level, fingers crossed the climbing gets less.

There is a Lanterne Rouge prize for the Tour de Zwift yeah? 🏮

After we “lost“ you on the KOM descent, I expected to be caught on the jungle climb, but didn’t see you. I first saw your name pop up with about 4-5 km to go, and your group was about 19 seconds behind me.
We kept that distance until about 2km before the finish, But I knew that a big group would close that gap fast on the descent towards the finish, even without pushing...

I remember watching a race some months back, where a rider had like a 200m gap and was continously putting out “red wkg”. Yet he was caught by the bunch of about 15 riders pushing much much less on the descent. The group dynamics might be a bit exagerated in Zwift, I think.

I use 4g to connect, it seems more reliable and reconnect faster than landline. We ditched land line nearly 2 years ago

Not good Nick. I was looking forward to seeing your time tonight. Hoping Vodafone sort it for you :okay:

Did the jungle circuit today outside the Tour on the mtb and it felt easier than yesterday. Not sure a bike swap would've made a difference in the tour, one chap came past me on one but it often made it easier to sit on with him leading.

Not sure I like the idea of Bologna 3 times on Sunday if my real world Saturday ride goes ok.

Cracking effort to stick at it ... if nothing else, it will get you fitter!!

I don't think there are any other large climbs to go. Each of the remaining routes will have lumps, but none of them will be more than 5-10 minutes in time with rests in between. You're doing really well - I was in your shoes not that long ago, dreading long rides and always last ... now I love the long rides  Keep at it mate
