I was doing over and under as well when you seen me, i find them strangely enjoyable but by the last over i was looking at the seconds tick by wanting them to finish quicker.

I can honestly say that while it was tough (and blimey, do my quads- not thighs as I said elsewhere:rolleyes:- hurt) I did enjoy it and on the last 2 lots of 310 pushed over for much of the intervals. Perhaps I didn’t go hard enough in the 20m block of 240w? 2 more workout starts then another ftp and 2 racesleft to complete and aiming to do all within 8 days:ohmy:

Just need W6+8 to finish the ZA. Planning to do W6 today and I'm so glad to hear it's not as tough as W5.

Well done mate it sounds pretty tough to say the least. Are you going to try to incorporate more interval work consistently, say on a weekly basis, or do it in blocks?

That sounds like me at the beginning of the year. Thought I was over my illness, from Christmas, get on the bike 15-20 minutes in coughing fit that would not end until I stopped. It took 6 weeks for my lungs to clear fully. I was reduced to walking rather than riding :cursing:.

Good luck with your recovery and don't push it too early.
Yep likewise. Didn't realise I had asthma .... all good now the meds are working :okay: I also thought it was a lingering cold and chest infection .... who knew that asthma could create so much gunk?!? :B)

They warn you not to go over the power on the 20min block because it affects the later vo2 max intervals but I don't think it mattered because of the proper warm up on the BB- I don't think the 15m warm up is enough, for me at least

After this I will work on stamina with 200-220w 2 hour rides mainly on Watopia with interval sprints on the hill. Then another block mid November to raise ftp.

You should get your best bike and power meter on and do an ftp Tommy. Your improvement and weight loss need a proper measurement mate.

To be honest I think my ftp would probably of been higher at the end of the last winter than it is now as I was doing loads more concentrated efforts then. Not to say I ever bothered doing one because, well, bkool...The patchy weather and onslaught of darker evenings has me chomping at the bit to get on the turbo but I've got to wait until next Friday to discover the fate of my bkool and at least another 5 weeks for the atom so...

I've really liked the look of the sessions you've been doing, if 'like' is the right word... The reason I asked about your plans going forward is because I intend to be more focussed this winter. I'm going to try to chart a training plan around my goals and also try to be more disciplined with my diet with this in mind. That's the plan anyway... I'm interested to hear other people's goals and what method / training they're doing to achieve them.

Likewise. I attribute it to reducing boredom and feeling more like climbing as you switch between the different levels of effort.
