OK, so a reminder about plans for tonight's handicap race (which unfortunately I now may be unable to make due to unexpected football Dad duties 😕)

Start time: 6pm UK time
N.B Normal bike - NO TT BIKES

Here's how the start works for those who didn't do Tuesday's race. I suggest you have a stopwatch handy (preferably not your phone, which you may want for keeping an eye on companion app messages)

1. Join meetup as usual and warm up by side of the road while the timer countdowns to the start of the meetup
2. When the timer gets to zero and we are "released", @Joffey starts
3. Everyone else doesn't move, but starts their stopwatch
4. If you want to keep pedaling to stay warm while you wait, go to the pairing screen and you can pedal without your avatar moving. Shortcut to this is to press "A" on the keyboard. Apple TV users will have to go via the menu as previously discussed.
5. Keep an eye on your stopwatch and a few seconds before you reach your start time, exit the pairing screen by pressing "OK"
6. Start riding when you reach your start time - e.g Marino goes when his stopwatch gets to 14:04 and so on
7. It's a race from the very start to the blue banner marking the end of the meetup - first across the blue finish banner wins!
8. Good luck and "enjoy"
I'm 50/50 Paul, but can I have a time please in case I can make it? Can't see me being anywhere near my best, but happy to have a time based on my previous ride 'just in case' I surprise myself! I'd hate to be called a sandbagger

P.S I don't have an invite for the meetup tonight so can you ping that across too please :okay:

Shall we just agree now to select the A (long) group ride for all stages? Takes away any confusion.
Especially now that I've seen from some of the other posts that Zwift have deliberately made the Race events the shortest ones of all (I think in Tour of London they were the same length as the B-class group rides) which means if you want a ride of any decent length, you really have to go with the A group ride.

I'll personally only be able to do the stages that coincide with a weekend, but that should still mean I can do about 5 stages I think.

Bear in mind there's also "make up" days for any stages you miss first time round between 9th- 16th Feb

Can I have an invite and a start time please Paul .
@Alongo I don't have a TT time for you on this course as you didn't do teh October league so I've had to estimate a start time. Over the 3 stages we both completed in the last league, you were 1 minute behind me, so I have used this as a basis for your start time - could be a bit generous of me I think if you're on top form

@Whorty sorry - I had forgotten to do you a time. The excuse Tsar has spkoken I'm afraid, so time based on your October result - sorry, I don't make the rules 🤷‍♂️

Remember I'm one third up Col d'Aspin at the appointed time, so please disregard me for tonight.

Looking at start times, those who go near last and group second to last have the best chance of forming a group/s and increasing pack speed overall
