1:07:05 for me.

Well done everyone - I was keen to see the back of that TTer that we all seemed to be chasing (Hatler I think their name was). Then we split from the pesky TTer and the race exploded - a case of careful what you wish for I think!

i thought you hadn't seen the finish as i was waitinig for you to come screaming pass - i am still laughing at how fast you took the corner at the bottom of the volcano - the g force would have made both eyeballs go in 1 socket !!
On a normal race the metres count down. I always forget they don’t on home made races.
Usually I like a long sprint but was really in the mood for a short one today & missed it.
Not to worry had cold all week & little rest so I’m as happy as a dad with 10 bikes.

At the start we all latched on to a Sweed Guy trying to have a peaceful training session on his own haha.

Does everyone get married around this time to go to the vuelta on honeymoon? (My anniversary was last week as well!)

Only stuck with the group for 20mins (my best 20min power since the spring as well:wacko:) then it broke apart when I was already near drifting off the back. Kept going for another 10 mins or so but had burnt all my matches. Great workout for me even though it was just the warm up for the big guns, but no time posted.
I'm looking to give it a go over the weekend ... happy to ride with you if we can come up with a time. I might set up a meet for say, 5 ish on Saturday and see who can join a re-ride.

Just checked, and when we did this course back in June I posted a time of 1:07:16 which is only 11 seconds slower than you tonight. Can't recall if this was ridden mostly on my own, or if I had wheels to follow. Be interesting if I can get anywhere near this on Saturday  I do now have a target to chase :ninja:

You just sent a shiver down @berty bassett spine thinking of the horror of owning ONLY 10 bikes....

Sounds good, hard to plan weekend at the minute but I'll see

It's even worse on these meet-up races because the finish line you're racing for isn't necessarily the segment finish either - in fact it's almost certainly a little before the finish line you see on screen. I think Lee beat me in a sprint finish once but I ended up three seconds faster for the segment. That must have been annoying

That time you've posted is the wrong segment @Milzy - the correct time for you is 1:02:02 so I'll add this to the spreadsheet.

(When we did this last time as a meet up race I had to create this special segment - the one I posted above - as the official one finished slightly after the meet-up finish line so some people stopped or slowed right down when they got to the meet-up line and ended up not registering a time for the official segment)

That TT'er must have been a computer. He rode at exactly 4.1 w/kg all the time, which is humanly impossible. Nice pace bot though, with high enough w/kg that most of us probably didn't want to pass him.

Ha! Yeah I was trying hard to close the gap once you guys dropped me on the hill, but I wasn't making much in-road! I've started running on Mondays and Wednesdays which has absolutely destroyed my legs because they're not used to it! I will persevere and hopefully will see the fitness benefit in the longer run but for now I think I'll have to accept a bit of a drop in cycling form and an increase in leg pain! When you both went off hard on that first hill where you first dropped me I stood up on the pedals to chase and my legs just said a big NOPE! (If Tommy's watching I'm NOT making excuses though, honest!)
