I think a lot of websites are now defaulting to the log on screen. The details are remenered but it will not log in automaticaly. I'm using firefox.

Bkool used to log in straight away to the home screen, it stopped doing that for me just prior to me dropping my subscription.
Garmin Connect is the same now
I've only just started using Strava

Incredible ave race pace, over 28mph >120miles:eek:
That was an incredible finish yesterday, glad I saved it to watch for when I got home. Felt sorry for Denz though as he looked the strongest of the breakaway guys for all but the last 100m.

Heard an interview with a mechanic at the Giro (I forget which team) who said while some still ride with rim brakes, the general consencus is they will all be on disc brakes within a year or two max

Yeah the manufacturers have been pushing it hard for the last few years apparently. The teams are finally succumbing to the pressure. Money talks.

I do like the stopping power of disk brakes but like the simplicity of rim brakes. My two recent bike acquisitions are both disc.

Yeah undoubtedly. Reminds me of the push for 29er or 650b wheels for mountain bikes - suddenly it was like the wheels people had been riding quite happily for years were absolutely hopeless and everyone HAD to upgrade their MTB to one with bigger wheels - and they did! Once everyone in the pro peloton is riding disc brakes it will further increase the marketing pressure on peole to change their road bikes to ones with disc brakes. so ££££ for the bike and component manufacturers.

Having said that, personally I love the disc brakes on my road bike and of all the changes from my old bike to new one (aluminium to carbon frame, aero features, comfort, upgraded groupset, carbon wheels etc) it's by far my favourite, and the feature I notice and appreciate the most, and I wouldn't go back to rim brakes. I appreciate not everyone likes the look of them, but it doesn't bother me at all.

In that interview, the mechanic said some riders loved the disc brakes, and others not. One of the main reasons he gave for some not liking them was the weight which I found surprising because I know the pro's often have to add weight to their bikes to meet the UCI weight limit so I'd be surprised if the disc brakes actually made much if any difference to the weight of a pro's bike? It's probably down to habit and personal preference - a bit like why some pro's choose not to ride aero frames and choose "lightweight" frames instead despite their being no weight difference nowadays (due to the UCI weight limit again), and some still prefer mechanical groupsets over electronic.

Yep tottaly agree mate. I think a couple of years ago the big manufactures tried to make rim brakes obsolete by stopping to make rim brake frames. But now they’ve realised there’s still a big demand for them. Just cones down to personal preference.

For me personally I like a light bike. Which sounds odd considering I’m 78kg. I’ve also got a few wheelsets and like switching them about.

But if I liked a frame and it was disc brake. That wouldn’t put me off getting it.
