I really like the look of the top Di2 model, but don't want to pay £8,500. Also I'm not really interested in Di2. The Dura Ace version was only in yellow, but they have now added this stealth grey colour as an option.

Will go look at it in the flesh next. anyone used Swift Cycles in Spitalfields?

Been in there. Seemed helpful. Often charge a bit more than others that discount a bit but will price match.

Hey fellow Gran Fondo riders how did you get on? I somehow managed to be late to the start, and as I got there it was mostly empty and everyone was way up the road! I gradually worked my way up from 650th to around 250th and then went to the loo and lost a load more places! I thought I saw you once Tommy and messaged you to check if it was you - but if it was I lost you in a big group of riders soon after anyway.

Good to get a longer than usual ride in though - and watching and listening to the absolute gale outside I was definitely glad to be riding indoors today!

Forgot to say I looked at the Ultegra version and a lot of review and the consistent complaint for some was knees hitting cable near where they entered the down tube- possibly a good reason to go di2

I bailed at 40km because legs too tight and did a 35km sub2 group ride. Lee kept going.

Yeah just found Lee's ride - he finished 12 minutes faster than me so let's not have any 100km league rides ok?

Seriously though, well done @berty bassett .

Bob - I can't tell you how much I thought about bailing during that ride!!
Ha ! 12 mins eh ? - but I wasn’t trotting off to the loo ! Got ride all wrong. I thought it was going to be a nice sedate ride behind a leader telling us all to keep bunched up - I had readied myself with iPad to blanket bomb ccers with messages - then everyone effed off peddling like the wind ! Didn’t know the route and was mortified when saw the hill looming at the end - should have took chances outside - would have been skimming along the North Sea by now in this wind , might have struggled when I turned round

I know someone who works at Sigma. You might be able to get a discount if buying a shed load of bits

Sigma have the complete build for 5k in the grey I think norry is describing. With your build list the bike is 5.25k without cockpit, peddles or saddle and with worse wheels.

I bailed after about twenty miles. Was not feeling it at all. Feel a little deflated to be honest. I wasn’t feeling great pre ride but I was surprised how flat I was.

Edit: sorry I didn’t see your message Paul. I couldn’t see the screen very wel to be honest as the sun was hitting the screen. Better not say that too loudly though as I was supposed to fit new curtains about a month ago...

I don’t think Lee will be too keen either!

I am glad I dropped into another easier group ride just to make myself keep going. Amazing what being part of a group does to my motivation when all I want to do is stop.

Yeah having that big hill right at the end of the ride is SO cruel!!

I cant believe they want £3.5k for Di2 and power meter

I have the same power2max power meter. I think it’s around 1k. But cannondale cranks are really pricey so that’ll help push the combo up. Also I bet the intergeated stem and bar is a big chunk of change too. And then di2 obviously.

Don’t get me wrong I prefer to build my bikes myself too but in this case I think you’re struggling to build it any cheaper than the stamp price with the components they’re listing. And in the case of norry’s build it’s actually really good value for the individual parts listed.
