A quick 20 ml over the back roads of mid to east Renfrewshire.
I took the benefit of a break in the weather to head out the back of 4 and do one of my left, right and straight on decide at the next junction rides.
The side and main roads were busy with commuting traffic but I finished the last few mile under front and rear lights in the quickly receding daylight.
Nothing sensational speed wise except one Strava segment improved on:thumbsup:(snails were passing me as usual)

Mrs 26 and I rode over to Westhide for her to collect a customer's vehicle today. It was the warmest day of the year I think as we both had to peel a jersey off. We had time for a cuppa on the way. She piled her bike in the back of the customer's van and I headed off home on my own. Nice 25 miles with the other half and a lovely 47 miles for myself including a little detour to visit a spot where masses of crocus were superb form.

quick jaunt up to my parents' it's only three miles, but did have the closest pass I've experienced in a long while. Yikes.... then a bloody taxi driver in a minibus did much the same a few hundred yards later :cursing:.

First outing of the year on the road bike. Got subsumed into a Macc Wheelers ride by accident at one point. Like Farage's train journey, I felt slightly uneasy in their midst. I was, after all, the only one without a beard. Noting that the Macc Whiskers were going my intended way I turned off. Cross country for an over-priced (but welcome) pint at the Swettenham Arms and home via a circuitous route.

27 miles at an appalling 12.5mph.

Road bike was going nicely.

Headwind Ahoy!

Bike back from its service, all smooth shifting and feeling like a new bike.

The plan was to head to Reeth via Arkengarthdale, then back via Richmond and Piercebridge. However, the wind was crazy – at the top of The Stang not only was it impossible to ride into the wind, it was also impossible to walk into it! Turned tail and headed home via Hamsterley. Guess it’s all miles in the legs…

Blue = plan, red = actual!

42 miles in very windy conditions this afternoon. As the roads were mainly dry I decided to take my new bike for its maiden ride. Felt pretty weird riding a nice lightweight carbon bike after riding my heavy winter bike since October. It was either a headwind or a gusty sidewind apart from the last 8 miles. Enjoyable ride but I'll have to make a few tweaks to the new bike just to get the riding position right for me.
