You were supposed to be looking at the bottle Vern ....As they are exposed, it is all but impossible to avoid them in close ups of the bike

I'm referring to the shots over the bars - the cables dominate the images and draw attention from your intended target unless your intended target is the cables.

The bottle? Is it meant to be a hydration system?

This is a hydration system....

You'd not want to be drinking out of that lower can after riding through what I did this afternoon Vern :stop:

Cracking ride yesterday morning, went from Llanfyllin to DinasMawddwy then up Blwch Groes (which is in the book 100 greatest hill climbs). It's steep, very steep especially at the top - there really is no let up! There was snow at the top which hindered my progress no end although I was glad to see the end of it. Beautiful views from the top though. Had to walk for a bit before eventually managing to get back on for the drop down to Lake Vrnwy and then home. 56 miles all in. Got a bit too wet in the rain a couple of times and feet were pretty cold by the end. Glad I went out though, as it set me up well for a further assault on the Boxing Day roast!

The Glue that binds us together.
40 miles today was the hardest ride of the year, that wind was a killer on the way back, got a bit of a head cold at the moment can't seem to shake it of, so i am struggling a bit but that wind finished me of, the ride did end on a high, popped into http://www.lepelotoncycles.com/ for a cup of tea and a bit of cake, then a couple of guys i know turned up, we all had a good old natter for about an hour, nice end to the ride. and we all ride Cervello so i had to take a pic.

Not the best pic in the world.^_^

It was windy today.

That is all.
/\\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ what he said

Just back from an +40 miler on our 17th wedding anniversary :smooch:. Took my hubby with me, however he complained as I was weaving my way through the potholes and dodging cars and the likes in the local town that I was on autopilot again, so I took a deep breath and bit my tongue. He was right, we were going over to my parents' home because my brother wanted to see us on our wedding anniversary and it is a route I cycle rather a lot at the moment! After switching off autopilot I tried hard to talk with him, but it was a touch breezy out, but it was also blue skies and really warm . The wind being much further from the west than normal meant we didn't get hit quite so badly in the usual places, but it also meant that there was a strava segment that had an unusually favourable wind today - my hubby gave me permission to go for it and I knocked 36 seconds off the woman's leaderboard claiming the QOM! It's the little things in life!

In Middlewich life got interesting: its the only explanation for a sudden and serious grinding to a halt of being hit by a brick wall :banghead:: OK not a brick wall but the wind was gusting badly and bouncing off the buildings channelling it down the street and giving a really nasty headwind and at one point the sudden gust had me stationary for a moment before I managed to recover (track stand!) dropping on the smallest chainring and standing on the pedals to get some forward momentum! thankfully it is a section of road where cars cannot overtake you and luckily we had no cars behind us. Along the canal I was expect life to be much worse than it actually was and we were soon flying along much faster than we normally do when it is windy. Heading off onto the much smaller minor roads we did our good deed for the day when we came across a tarpaulin 3/4 blocking our side of the road - we stopped and anchored it to the lowest level of a 7 bar metal gate - which reminds me, earlier in the ride we had cycled passed on that had been knocked over by the wind? I had been left wondering how, until my OH anchored a tarpaulin to another one! (We anchored it to the bottom to try to prevent the wind knocking over the gate...)

Onwards and towards my parents' home we had to go over the M6 which was stationary south bound yet again, however that was not what we were looking at, it was the double rainbow that we were watching, though ironically we were not getting rained on and it was against a completely blue sky and there were only clouds on the horizon looking into the wind! I would have done a photo at this point, but there really was no way of getting one that was even vaguely 'nice' let alone decent. The local tip or the M6 simply did not appeal to me...

Our return journey was in the dark and tbh, there was little to report except for my both of my front lights running out (again :surrender:) and us upsetting a motorist - at least I think he it was us he was blowing his horn at , anyhow, we ignored him totally :hyper:and that was that - home - in the dry with clear skies and wondering how we can get a ride in tomorrow - we have my parents' shopping to do in the morning and their party to organise for the afternoon, though we are not attending the party, more avoiding it!

I needed to test the battery endurance on Marj's elec-assist bike & visit the bank so killed 2 birds with 1 stone:so rode the e-a to Uttoxeter & back, approx 25km (no computer on this bike).
This is the longest ride I've done for several months & I've learned several things from it.......
the majority of Utcheter drivers have no accurate perception of the width of their vehicle,an oncoming vehicle,a stationary vehicle,a cyclist & the width of the road.
the majority of cyclists in the Utcheter area are pheasant pluckers.:hello:
the battery endurance on the e-a remains adequate for most of the rides likely to be undertaken on that bike:thumbsup:.
I have no cycle fitness worthy of the description:blush:.
all my physical contact points & a couple of non-contact joints ache after less than 70 mins on the bike.
there is much to be done to achieve a fitness level which allows bike riding to be enjoyed again.

Puddles

Do I need to get the spray plaster out?
We blew away the cobwebs and snuck out before it started to pee down with rain today.

First step was to adjust the Wee Hoo forward a little so Maggots feet could be properly strapped in!

that done we whizzed to the shops as we needed carrots only to find our favourite parking space nabbed by some other cyclists - how dare they  Then we turned the corner to the enormous down hill to the beach! Weeeeeeeeeee Hoooooooooo indeed, Squidge complained that he was not going as fast downhill on his new bike (which is a lot lighter) then we pootled along the beach road, stopping to admire the view here and there

We then made our way through the very muddy path up to the country park, did a lap there and then came back via the recreation ground and got indoors just as the rain came down really hard!
