Club APR last night. Fast, rolling 26 mile course. Hard work but a good work out. Rode to and from the event and it was getting pretty dark by the time I got home (9.15)

Went out a bit fast or my dinner had not settled as halfway round i got stomach cramps and nearly barfed a few times so i had to ease off a fair bit so i could turn the pedals, otherwise i was fairly pleased as i still got an average for the route over evens.

After a hard day picking cherries and walking other people's dogs, I was knackered. I have been feeling really tired just lately so wasn't going to ride. Then I saw @ brainyricardo endomondo ride and thought 'right, I'm going out'. I finished my cuppa, changed and got on the bike and did a swift (for me) 9.08 miles around a regular ride. I took the iPod and listened in one ear to the Manics, a bit of Beatles and some Sisters of Mercy. Back in 37 mins and a few seconds to put the kettle on for another cuppa.

Feeling much happier now and planning a nice 16 - 20 miles tomorrow. Hopefully I can drag the OH out. I dusted his carbon bike today, he's not been near it since last sunday week  . If it had been mine I'd have worn it out by now.

It's great isn't it, I always feel good after a ride..even if I was tired and feeling "Meh" about going out beforehand!

Did my pre brekky 16.4 loop again this morning, leg still a bit hurty from Sunday. Another beautiful morning.

Got home from work feeling  , but decided I was going out come what may. Glad I did, saw a hare, stoat and a weasel on my travels. Felt good on the bike until the familiar feel to a puncture . Drat! I think some tyres with some puncture protection are in order - there are just too many thorns lying in the road at the moment. Now looking at some Continental Tour Rides. Swallowed loads of flies so only needing a small tea now.

A day without a steed was proving too much here on holiday in Banff, Alberta, so managed to grab one from the hotel and headed out on a 20 mile or so pootle around some local trails and riverside paths. Was a bit wobbly at first- especially when I found it was one of those bikes you backpedal to brake! Here's my pal for the afternoon.

A bit further along are some lakes, only a couple of miles from town. A bit different from my normal fenland habitat.

Further along..

Saw a flock of waxwings and then my first osprey, fishing on one of the lakes. This is a poor shot of a bald eagle atop a tree by the cycle path. I nearly fell off when I first saw it.

Further along I seemed to have the place to myself. Its difficult to even begin to describe what a beautiful place this is.

The drivers here seem remarkably well mannered and patient with cyclists. Loads of folks out on bikes too. I'm here with mrs g and the inlaws- her dad is Canadian, but moved to Manchester in the 60's. nothing against Manchester, but seeing this place, it does seem at best a rather questionable decision!

The family are away and I've got the day off work, so I went out for a 50 miler up to Forestburn Gate and back. It was a bit of a sufferfest as I'd done a 20 mile TT the night before, but I was pleased with my time. Stopped at Bolam Lake for a coffee.

I got the closest pass of my life less than a mile into the ride, but the driver was about 120 years old, so I didn't want to rant and rave at her. I also realised on the ride that my cycle computer isn't calibrated correctly. So I've been going (a bit) quicker than I thought!

There's 15odd miles either side but I thought I'd have a go a the Club TT. Messed up a bit though  caught my minute man within 2miles but he was on a mtb, chapeau fella :bravo:After 6 or 7 miles into the ride, just as I started to see my 2minutes man, the rider behind caught me and not wanting to be accused of drafting I eased back, then came a few bumps and I blasted by him again. A couple of miles later he came by looking fresh again. Similarly so as not to be accused of drafting I eased back again until the final sprint when the GPS shows I ramped it up to just under 32mph. My mate was spectating and tells me the reason the man behind me came by comfortably was that he was drafting me for miles. Oh and perhaps I should get tri bars, unfortunately my current flat profile, 'wing shape' bars wont take them

Edit: I forgot to say I stopped for a Chinese on the way home last night, the exit road is a dual carriageway and the prat beside was determined that he'd beat me to the lights, he then sat next to me for quite a while not realising whilst I was waiting for the green light to go right the left turn was green for him. Its not like its a hard junction to see the lights
