The Brickworks is one of my favourite climbs, not been up there for a long time though, need to go try for a fast time up there sometime soon!

Can I have some of that stripey cake, please?

75.6 miles with the cycle chat eccose Tour De Fife . Great guys, horrible winds and have A left cleat that just won't unclip so had two falls ad some new scars. Almost doubled the pb on distance and time I set last week, so rally happy to have done the distance when I only stared January and am a robust 15 stone

30.20 miles today, round Central Park then a detour to explore, but got a bit lost and ended up in East Harlem, and went over the river and into the Bronx. We turned round and came back, but had to make a detour as the way we came was one way, so we had to find another road. We eventually made it back to Central Park, rode round half it again until we got to Columbus Circus. Stopped for lunch in a Starbucks, where I saw some loon taking photos of herself on her phone. Decided to move on, but could not find the key to the bike lock, found it after ten minutes of frantic searching stuck on the brakes of another bike! Onward to down 9th Avenue, the onto Broadway for a reccy ride, to work out where the start of tomorrows ride is. Then onto Battery park, for an ice cream then back along the Greenway cycle path alongside the Hudson river back to the hotel.

It is bloody bedlam riding round the Park, there are thousand of folk out on bikes of all types, kids bike, BSO, recumbents, hire bikes, old bikes, latest bling bikes, trikes, unicycles, Bromptons, plus all the joggers, peds, dog walkers the lot! And riding on the roads...well, it gets your blood pumping for sure.

Badenweiler to Basel and back through the hills. 50 miles and the first sight of the sun for a week. What a pleasure it is to cycle in an area where the roads aren't full of potholes and drivers would rather hold up the car behind than overtake you with less than 2m clearance.

Having postponed tomorrow's long ride due to the dull and possibly wet forecast, I went out this afternoon instead. Only half the distance but bright sunshine and blue skies all the way - even the headwind didn't bother me too much. It's one of my regular rides, nipping up over the western flanks of the Quantocks to the coast and then heading home via the borders of Exmoor. I finally managed to break the 40mph barrier on one descent - I've been trying for ages but kept getting slowed down by car drivers.

Took loads of photos but the lack of leaves on the trees is really bothering me, so most of them have been deleted.

35-40 flat, slow and windy miles. Got lost for 4 miles down a rough track - infact the whole track was just a farm track, and I did 9 miles on it.

Still, feel better for doing it. No ride tomorrow due to family stuff and a beer festival  but a leisurely 10 or so is on the cards on Monday when I'll drag Miss CP out in her trailer for a picnic and to feed the ducks.
