68 miles today - a good turn out - 13 of us. No rain but cool & windy.

Just one of me today! ;)

53 km on a cold but beautiful autumn's day.

Cycled to where I used to work 14 years ago; it hasn't changed, but all the trees and bushes have grown, and having only done that journey in a car before, the road seems a lot longer by bike!

There were quite a few other groups of cyclists out, as well; most gave a wave or a nod.

Stopped off halfway for a currant bun, small choccy bar and large coffee and took in the last few rays of warmth.

The return journey was mostly in the shade, but as I got to the Oslo fjord the view was stunning: still as a millpond and a lovely shade of light blue; could have been the Greek islands. And in my imagination, it was!

I had the worst ride to date today. It was truely horrendous. 8.70 miles took me 58 mins 51 secs, so a poor average speed of 8.87 mph. I also got blown over. Literally. The wind was either against me or to my side. A nasty cross wind took me out. Luckily there was no cars and I was blown towards the grass verge which thankfully didn't have a curb - it went from road to grass, so I came out if it somewhat unscathed. I got home after what felt like an eternity totally drenched to boot. Thankfully I had some beer and chocolate waiting for me after I had a nice warm shower.

Compare this to yesterday, exactly the same route and it took me only 26 mins 44 secs. Insane!

planned to do a 40 miler today.

got to 18.4 miles and slipped on icy leaves and skidded across the road on my side. one phone call later and I was picked up by my dad, felt too shakey to keep riding. there was a club run of some sort going the opposite direction to me and that was nice beacuse a couple stopped to see if I was OK. Was a real shame aswell as I felt really strong, doing the 18.4 in 1hr4 mins so 17.25 - and that was the uphill bit.

yesterday actually, did a hilly club run out to the roaches café in staffordshire. we also had the club's freewheel comp, roadies and mountain bikers together (this involved being pushed off at the top of a hill and seeing who goes furthest). didn't win, but i did finish in the top six or so. regretted not filling my water bottles (and having a pee) at the café stop

very short and bad...
forgot to take my mobile and spare tube of all the days to get a puncture,,,luckily only 7 miles from home....

Didn't ride today, had to help "Fairweather" remove a 32" crt television from his brothers and take it to another mate. Once it was in the van his brother said time for breakfast and so we adjourned to the very local café, and two hours later we staggered out!

Took my quickest bike out for the first time in far too long and fell in love with cycling again

I was pushed over to Holmfirth by a breeze and then it battered me going up Holme Moss, I was at quite an angle leaning into it going round the last corner at the top

I found what could be a potentially very interesting cafe too, had no money today but will be popping back when they put the Mongolian Yurt up.

Quickest bike! The other one was your slow one?

I only went out for some hill training tonight having done heavier mileage on Friday and Saturday night including some night time reservoir riding. Didn't get any rain in the end.

No, that's the one. I've been pootling around on my commuter, going shopping, carrying stuff for far too long and getting a bit bored really. going out on that today was a real shot in the arm leg.

Have you been enjoying the night riding?

Yes, very much so. I joined a sort of club thing recently and actually went out with a group on Friday. You get different routes and things when other people plan and it was a good laugh. The night riding has been good, although it went colder about 3 weeks ago quite a few nights have been pretty good - clear night, not that windy, low traffic levels and pretty peaceful. Filtered past a massive traffic jam recently (it went on for about a mile and a half).

ok then Joe, wet cold leaves, and i was riding sensible, only about 15mph, but I will be more careful on corners with leaves on in the future, but I had tryed to avoid most of them, must of been just one that sent me sliding.

I was joking Young Chav, i have gone down hills and had other people say, "take it easy down here" to have me go flying off, round a courner with the back wheel slipping abit. Did that on fixed, but made it look kool
Learn some bike skills Young Chav;)
