Nipped to the shop to pick some wall paper paste.
25 miles, 3 bike shops and
Halfords, 1 punctured tub and a lovely little ride.
Went out to 1st shop/boutique as I had put cycle hire into the computer and their name had come up, no they didn't hire out bikes, I explained that I might be wanting to buy a new one depending on what they rode like and showed them my bike Got an 'oh dear you still ride that?' sort of look but still helpful enough. I think I want to try a modern bike but won't be spending any real dosh til I have given them a go in case there is no real benefit from my my 30 year old Saracen (renting one on holiday in July but can't wait). Out into the sticks and ooh lovely a slick of farm slurry over the road and all over my brand new jersey!!!
. I thought I might look into Halfords as I was passing a total of 4 road bikes in and none of them attractive, near home I got a rear puncture from a pot hole on a roundabout, so after changing tubs went into the big national chain that was only 150 yards away to purchase a tub repair kit after being pointed into the wrong direction I was then told by the assistant he thought tubs were disposable as he didn't know you could repair them? On to my LBS (second home) and ordered a repair kit round to Homebase picked up the wallpaper paste, and home.
cheers for reading another episode of my mundane little life
